Personally I don't think I've seen a lack of effort from any of our players this season, including under Moore. They are just a hugely limited group that have to be set up absolutely perfectly to get anything out of a game at this level.
The players are visibly tired/not fit enough to play a pressing game for 90 minutes. I do think it's the right approach for us as a club but the timing isn't great.
Neil Warnock is well known for not having his teams at peak fitness, then after NW most of them have been out injured for weeks at a time, now we're throwing in a switch to full throttle football three quarters of the way through the season. It needs a full preseason of this for that to be possible IMO.

I find this post both offensive and slanderous. Please delete it. Admin you are okay with this ? I’m not okay with it. Grow up for gods sake. By your own admission you’ve explained how drink can affect your posts and your narcissism is worryingly frequent. Either pipe down and take it on the chin or stop creating childish posts. Amen. The clown should have been banned months ago.

Thought this thread was pathetic when I first saw it. But now, fuck me - the players need to stand up and make themselves accountable. They've been pathetic recently, you can't keep blaming managers. They proved they can do it under Worthy.
Pearson holding his hands up and shaking his head at the away fans today. My God. As one of the senior players he needs to take accountability for the absolute shit show performances he's putting in, along with others.

There was a moment in the second half when we should’ve been urgently fetching the ball to get it up field to hunt for a much needed winner. Instead they were nonchalantly fetching it, no urgency, no desire to really go for 3 points. A worrying absence of heart and desire to get the winner

Think we got a goal kick in the 92nd minute and Nicholls played it short and we were fancying around at the back with it.

Seems a few people have changed their minds about the Poll. Sorba’s mouth probably cost us 2 points today. The passing in final third is garbage. Rudhoni fluffed / scuffed another chance. Edward’s tried a shot from 35 yards. Pearson has a go at the fans. Bojan says he isn’t injured. None of the above “screams” that they are doing their jobs properly or behaving like professionals.

Barring a handful of games, that's been clear for all to see, all season. But (very much like yourself) this poll is pointless, unhelpful, and inflammatory for no other reason than your own enjoyment at making inflammatory posts in order to generate a reaction, and to top it off, you posted it in the build up to probably the most important game of the season.

It’s unprofessional and probably cost us 2 points. It’s not the first time he has done it. The post wasn’t anything about me, it’s about the players and their lack of professionalism or lack of quality. Or not if you disagree. You turned into a personal slur against myself. You have an opinion as do I. It’s what a forum is for.

The problem with this debate is it naturally assumes the players aren't delivering/trying (I know there are options for what you think but the premise is that the players need to step up).
I didn't go yesterday but my pals described it as 'awful". More worryingly there were significant shades of Darren Moore in the performance. Given Jon Worthington (who some had derided and said wasn't capable of coaching the team) had got performances to pick up yesterday, in what was a must win game (well it was for me), was very concerning.
I think there is a bigger problem across the entire club around mindset. It's a problem that has fermented across a number of seasons. That mindset needs to change and that ultimately will see better on the pitch.
Unfortunately that is unlikely to change quickly. Players are people and react to the environment they are in, just like we do at work. Whatever the gameplan was yesterday can't have been completely embraced. Either that or the pressure of a "must win" game wasn't managed mentally.
Overall it is too easy to deride players purely looking in from the stands. To really understand what is going on you need to be a "fly on the wall" in Canalside, watching training and in the dressing room.
I totally get the frustration, anger and dismay. We are all suffering and as much we continually hope for better things don't seem to improve. That, for me, us a long standing problem that may (I am obviously surmising) have yet to be addressed.
I have been heartily fed up with pretty much everything I have seen this season but I have come round to the view that all I can do right now is get behind the players on the pitch for these remaining games. I can completely get anyone who is struggling to feel that way but I take the view I'll have done my bit.
When the final whistle is blown at Portman Rd that is the time that everything will need to be evaluated and, hopefully, a new narrative and mindset started.
Irrespective of how things turn out, League One or Championship, we need a totally fresh outlook. The big disappointment of yesterday, after dropping 2 points, is that the optimism around Britenreiter is quickly diminishing. That speaks to how we feel about the last few years at the club as much as it does about what we see on the pitch.
The truth is AB and the players, collectively, need to pull together and find a way to win the games that will keep us up. All we can do is get behind them. If they collectively fail to give us anything to get behind then they must collectively be challenged. As must Mr Nagle to really change the direction of this club instead of stumbling through.
In short it isn't just the players it's everything that needs to change.

collectively the players just aren’t good enough to consistently put in Championship level performances. They can do it occasionally, but just not at a consistent level. It’s not about having to ‘step up,’ it’s quite simply they are not really good enough.
The vast majority are League One standard, with a smattering of bottom end Championship quality. Helik, Balker, Thomas, Burgzorg & Rudoni are probably the only genuine Championship quality players we have
If we get relegated, very few will be bought by Championship clubs, and those that are, will be bought by clubs at the bottom end of the Championship.

Agreed. It’s not lack of effort, just lack of ability.
Apart from Helik, none of the others would get a game in a top half Championship side. I like Rudoni for his attitude, but probably not producing enough to be a top player. Thomas has Premier League dead ball delivery, but little else and terrible attitude. Balker hasn’t played enough to judge, seems to be a bit delicate. Nicholls on his day is decent, but form has been up and down. Spencer and Headley look promising but wouldn’t be near a lot of first 11s yet. Can’t say I’m impressed by Burgzorg, but his record is ok so would need to see him a bit more.

I think confidence is the key problem. The biggest impact Warnock had when he came in was improving individual player confidence and for Koroma, Rudoni and Ruffels they became completely different players.
Regarding our current situation, there are still obviously enough games left, but I was really relying on a new manager bounce that hasn't happened.
So we're approaching a critical run of games very low on form and confidence.
I can see us going down, and I'm afraid 95% of the blame has to be with KN. Lack of investment in the squad last summer and 3 managers in one season is a recipe for relegation.

We have a squad ageing in vital areas and not quite good enough in others - not a recipe for success is it? By all means point the finger re mgrs - but the squad investment aint his fault. As for confidence? Some of that has to come from within surely? Koroma looks lost, rudoni been mostly awful since xmas, thomas hardworking but lacking direction and quality etc etc. Im resigned to potential relegation this time - as a club weve been close too many times and the prem waste and ownership issues since may come to bite us firmly on the arris! Hope its not the case - and KN gets a real chance to move us fwd in the summer.

I wonder if anybody would vote differently had I started this post today rather than when I did.
They represent us, yet their lack of professionalism on Saturday was astounding.
