If it wasn’t postponed, Blackpool would’ve been the 5th game in two weeks starting with Shrewsbury tomorrow.
Could just be that Duff/the club took the option to postpone to move it to another slot where we’re only playing Saturdays to give players/management team a rest or have more prep time.

Time to bed in the new strikers on the training ground 😉🤣. I'm happy, it's the only home game I'd have missed whilst in Spain 👍

We picked 6 away games to go to and Orient is one of them along with Charlton. No point booking a hotel and train for the Orient game now was looking forward to it like all the London games.

Bad news in my opinion. Assuming we continue our great start to the season, this blank weekend could kill our momentum.

Why is this match still on all the fixture lists for Sept 7? Town website and app and BBC?

Makes no sense to me. Going well it could kill the momentum. Squad at peak fitness with a 100% record, so keep going. Games are postponed in this league much more often than in the Championship, so calling 3-4 off for International call ups is asking for trouble regarding fixture congestion. The rearranged fixture could coincide with illness / injuries to the squad. How ironic that Spencer will miss the Blackpool game through injury. Having spent £48 on a train ticket for Orient will the club reimburse me if THEY decide to call it off ? I think we all know the answer to that one !

Wouldn't mind, but the last time I went to watch us play Orient away, it got called off whilst we were on the train down 🤣 Shit happens.

Was hoping to see more of Pat Jones lately,he reminds me of a young Michael Owen the way he runs And Evans reminds me of Steve Gerrard the way he runs.

Leyton Orient have had 3 players called up & postponed the home game against Peterborough United, so looks highly likely the Town game in October will follow suit.......Birmingham have a trip to Exeter to rearrange now the game on 7th September is also called off.

Just four games in league one are currently still due to take place on 7th September, one of which is Wycombe Wanderers (v Mansfield) who have two players called up thus unable to postpone the match, with Town due to play Wycombe in Nov/March international breaks it could be an advantage to play them if the situation is the same then.......Certainly something for Town to look at to avoid an unwanted fixture pile up.

GRRR When the fixtures came out, it was discussed lots on here about the international break fixtures and that our will more than likely get called off. Even more so now with Hodge as he has had ROI call ups before. Why would the ub reimburse when the Orient game is weeks away and the notice you get for a postponement, for example Blackpool at home, is at least 2 weeks. You could book train tickets when you know for sure. Or alternatively drive (if you can that is.) You have chosen to go by train and book before you know.

Discussed on here but nothing from the club saying be aware these fixtures could be moved, just about every other club has issued a statement warning fans of these dates. I tweeted to warn fans when they put the Blackpool tickets on sale that it could be called off but got no response, they need someone like CD who's on the ball & gets more done from the US than whoever is paid in the office to help fans.......Tickets are on sale for Northampton game, I asked if the game will defo be played on Saturday with Giants playing on Friday (no response again), some will rightly hit the roof if this is moved at short notice now.

It is common sense though. Every year a handful of Lg1 games get called off. Orient is my birthday weekend and a few of us are planning on going. But we are waiting for confirmation before booking anything. Regarding Northampton, what has that got to do with the club? That is the EFL who move games. On the communication side, I'm very surprised as whenever I email about anything I get a response within 24 hours.

It may well have been discussed lots on here but good as DATM is not the first port of call for fixture news. A heads up from the club would not have gone amiss. Never entered our heads that we would be calling games off. The lad who made the group booking checked that we were ok for Tv and booked. You have to book early to get a decent price. We have lost out in the past to weather and TV rescheduling but never never for the club calling games off for having one regular ( Spencer ) unavailable. For the reasons I stated above I think it is poor and we should go ahead and play. If we have three or four regulars out it is a different situation of course.

We have players who represent their countries. It's not new, it has always been the case that games get postponed for it in Lg1 and 2. What can the club do until they know of the players are selected? Again, booking early for a cheaper price, that's your choice. Its the risk you take. The Orient game may go ahead, you may strike lucky, who knows? Haven't seen the call up list but Marshall and Koroma also represent their nations. As does Hodge. Yes it's annoying, but it was expdcted.

They don't always play straight after the Giants play (within 24 hours), nothing to do with EFL & more likely that it's ground staff or Town who decide.......A lot of Town fans travel far & wide for home games too, international breaks may be common sense to you but when selling tickets Town never mentioned it.

The Northampton game shouldn't get moved because of the Giants. There's a ruling in the Premier League that the pitch can't be played on within 24 hours of the fixture, hence fixtures being moved in those two seasons but, as far as I'm aware, there are no such rules in the EFL

If they move it at short notice, I fully agree with you as they already know that the Giants are at home on the Friday.
