Thanks for extending happy hour until kick off 👍 Only a small thing but it’s appreciated Where have you seen that? Decent if thats been done as it went down the fan zone before the Cov match and it was decent but 'normal' of over £5 for a Town lager was steep and would put me off going back.

Just hope the weather is decent. Also just seen there is 50% off full price items in the club shop for season ticket holders. Another good idea to shift some stock and give something back to the fans.

Great idea that, more alcohol means more noise generally! Is it just the town lager though? Can't drink that stuff, I'd rather pay full price for Amstel!

These are all nice ideas, and very generous from the club, but they'll have zero impact on the attendance (quid a kid aside).
I really don't get the logic.

Not sure how do-able it is, but some other clubs (admittedly in lower leagues) have experimented with a "Pay What You Want" game. Could be an idea?

Do the club still have a relationship with the local schools?
Have the club contacted all the football local clubs, boys and girls, in the area and offered free tickets?

I do notice people seem to then spend more on food and drink so probably balances out the people who pay next to nothing

Allow transfers into the South Stand. Anyone with a season card or booking history can now transfer into the South Stand for the final two games.

Cheaper tickets for kids, no discount for adults, no friends for fiver etc as far as I can tell unless I've missed something. Not gonna make much difference imo.

The club can't win. Apart from the fact that there'll be some restrictions they have to deal with due to rules, they can't win.
People say "do something" so they do something. Then people say "what you've done isn't good enough, do more". Then they do more and people say "it's still not enough and it won't make much difference".
Feels like they could make it free entry, every fan gets £25 for every goal we score and £10 for every goal the opposition score, with a £50 bonus if we don't actually concede and a £100 bonus if we win the game, 3 free items of food or drink in the ground, money off stuff in the club shop, free matchday programme, 5 free golden gamble tickets for each fan and some people STILL wouldn't be happy.
At least they're trying and making some sort of effort to do something, anything at all, rather than thinking "fuck it, we're not doing anything for this miserable bunch of bastards"

Fair enough, the deals in place are welcomed, but they'll make no difference to the attendance. If they want a full ground, given our dreadful football, make it cheap.

I see it as a long term game. Get some kids in that might not normally go in a crucial must win game with fans singing their heart out and hopefully players putting in a shift might hook a few more poor victims to follow town for life (my brainwashing took place April 24th 1993!) side note is their a cider or is it just town lager.

I think some people are confused by asking the fans their opinion & promising to deliver anything mentioned.
I honestly don't see what more they can do.

The only way they'll increase the crowd imo. Link it to season ticket holders and that's your advertising. Maybe it's not possible for some reason.

Thinking back to the reciprocal pricing thing, don't they have to offer away fans cheap tickets if they offer them to home fans? Does that present a logistical problem having already put the tickets on sale 3 weeks ago?

I bought some tickets for the Brum game the other day. Loads left. Going to be Brum fans trying to get tickets in the home end.
Could boil over this game depending on the result.

www.efl.com/governance/regulations/Under the Regulations should any Club wish to offer promotions or discounts they must either (a) offer the discount or special promotion on a similar basis to visiting supporters or (b) seek the permission of the visiting club to run the promotion for home fans only. So - since Swansea tickets are on sale at £25, and Birmingham have already sold out at £25...we can't offer discounts UNLESS approved by them.

Does that present a logistical problem having already put the tickets on sale 3 weeks ago? That’s correct. That’s why there are limitations on what they can do because of time constraints. The logistical nightmare would make it impossible. So they’re doing everything ELSE to make it more fun and rewarding to pack the place.

As mentioned above, the club cannot win. They have EFL rules to adhere to, plus they are a business (after all). We can’t ask for the opportunity and then throw it back at them. Personally I appreciate the opportunity to give DC some ideas to take to the club. Small things can help and tbh, grand gestures in the situation we’re in, maybe aren’t constructive? Run them from the get go in season 24/25. My take is make the season card more valuable. Add in benefits. Have a season card? You get 20% off a shirt, or 10% off anything in the shop, anytime. Friend for a fiver codes, free pie at Xmas or your birthday match. Free programmes. Stuff like that. Yes it’s gimmicky but it all helps. Give the kids a free shirt or something, make them WANT to be a Town fan of the future. Hell, my eldest Daughter went to a soccer school as a kid, met Terry the Terrier and Peter Clarke and loved it. She still cherishes the medal and signatures to this day! The bottom line though is a winning team puts bums on seats and gets money spent in the shop and kiosks. It might be tricky but if IF/WHEN we beat Swansea, get offers out to schools, make it cheap as chips for adults and fill the place for the Birmingham game. Make the place bounce. Open the fanzine early that day too but don’t take umbrage if the brown stuff hits the fan and we lose. If the players can’t handle playing in front of a vociferous crowd, one on their side, then it’s time for them to go. They’re meant to be professionals after all. Finally, as I’m a tight Yorkshire get, without a season card these days, I do find the £15 adult tickets a godsend when taking my two kids with me. We end up having a drink and food, and spending in the shop also. The club earns more that way that a more expensive ticket that would make me feel like holding back on the fodder and .

Do Kirklees not run that "Soccer 7s" thing anymore in conjunction with the club? My godkids Owen and Lauren both got free merch on their 7th birthdays, discounted season ticket (may have even been free with mine n Dan's adult ST) and a "meet n greet" with Pav, Terry and some dwarfs player n mascot. Turned them both into avid (rabid? ) Town fans and both still attend (although not regularly) as adults to this day. Edit: Tried posting a pic of Owen with Pav, but can't seem to get it cut n pasted off my hard drive.

I guess it could be done in future but with plenty of notice. Guess if it's part of the season card deal it doesn't have to be reciprocal. I'm thinking of friends for a tenner like they used to do.

Pretty sure last season (or one before) against Swansea we lowered the ticket prices a few days before the game & refunded the Jacks fans who had already purchased them.......Bit late in the day now & you wouldn't do it for a team who's away allocation is sold out.
