We also have Simpson and Hudlin on the staff?? Duff may have different opinions on one or both after training...?? He may not but we are assuming they wont be here in August, them and others? Nobody with a hole in their arse can surely think either would make even a passing impersonation of a prolific league one striker Here with contracts.. Paying them off may well affect the budget enough to make replacing them difficult. I dont know??? We all seem to be working on vague assumptions of whats available, what can be done etc?

Right, go on enlighten me. All I can see is his name being put out there a long time ago and now getting gazumped at the end. It’s hard to have much faith after last season. I think you've missed the point. I don't have a clue what's going on behind closed doors regarding this transfer, but then again neither do you, so just calm down before grabbing the pitchfork. Grabbing the pitchfork, okay I’m guessing you aren’t seeing the meltdown from Leeds fans over selling Archie Gray if you think that’s what I’m doing. We’re fans on a forum, people are allowed opinions, particularly after an abject relegation. Otherwise it would be pretty dull on here. Hopefully we get this over the line.

I reckon Simpson has a future in the game from what I saw today. Nice turn and shot today for his goal. He had another good effort on goal and held the ball up well bringing others into play
Time will tell, but I hope his future lies with us.

Think people need to relax a bit with the May panic. I’m sure the deal is pretty much done and ready to be announced on Monday as the real ITKs have pretty much confirmed/hinted at.
A few saying well he isn’t that good anyway/too old etc are going to look silly when he does sign and they then claim he is the next coming.
Just relax

Just wonder if this Alfie May transfer has gone off the boil for whatever reason, nothing would surprise us fans if that was the case. But you never know as they say it's just gone a bit quiet at both ends for some reason. Charlton trying to get an auction going. One club took exception.. you’re seeing new and improved behaviour. ☝️☝️👍

Fella called Neil Moxley, Chief Sports Writer for the Sunday People and a Brummie says that Birmingham are interested in Alfie May, but Huddersfield are still the ones in the box seats.
No idea if this is true, or if he has any credibility, but I hope so!

Not fantastic by any means, but he'd probably double that in a team challenging for promotion (which we should be) at this level. I reckon Duff will give him a chance, and why not? I was pretty surprised that Warnock decided to loan him out for the entirety of 23-24. He'd definitely have contributed more than Danny Ward last season.

However, should May sign, Bojan and Healey stay, then I think Simpson would make the most sense to keep as a fourth and very different option. He could be a battering ram coming on in the last 10 Minutes if we are chasing a late winner. Think there is something there but a lot to prove.

Unless referring to adebayo and it means we know to up our offer to try get our man.

Pearson will be like Maldini next season He's not very good but he spent last season coming off the bench in league one so it's not a stretch to think he can do the same for us. Would prefer a better option off the bench though if we can afford it

Yeah, if this means we’ve ended up missing out on our number our prime target again then surely this is just the same behaviour we’ve seen from previous regimes! Or we’ve stood our ground and still got him?

Don't disagree Town should aim higher but league position is irrelevant, otherwise Helik could be seen as crap due to being relegated multiple times from the Championship. Simpson as a signing was a gamble worth taking as no other young player had anywhere near his physical attributes. Obviously needed to see a technical development to get value out of it. One or two of the 'young' lads backing up Healey, Bojan and May if he signs would be fine imo.

So he’s gone to Brum then? I would take the new and improved behaviour that we won't give up until he is ours. Before we have just rolled over and let clubs take players. Adebayo, patino ,stansfield etc.

Regarding May, Kev could just say to Charlton and his agent that our offer is now withdrawn. That leaves: 1. Brum offering over the odds for a 31-year-old, 2. Brum limiting their offer to less than the asking price e.g. 500k, or 3. Charlton stuck with the player who they could have sold for a decent fee (one pissed off player and agent).
Perhaps Brum are just trying to sign May because they think he might prove a threat from a rival.

Was told it was done announced Monday but we’ve obviously been gazumped by Brum - it’ll come down to what Town do, do we match it or walk away.

Simpson should be playing for the giants, no chance should he be an option, sell immediately along with Hudlin who is also useless
