Duff now 1/12 with BetVictor. He was all set for a return to Barnsley, have we nipped in and offered him a bit more?

Agree think it’s a good appointment.by no means exciting but doesn’t mean it’s not what we need. Like above need to get behind the guy,it’s a fresh start,no botching and whining the second a pass goes astray because folk weren’t excited by the appointment etc etc. Assemble a good squad for him over the summer I think he’ll do a good job

If it’s the same Cameo as a few years back it’s Duff.

Hope he’s moved up north otherwise it’s not going to work out. That's the spirit!

MC really liked Duff last time, it was the unexpected CV of AB that stopped it and the fact he was not willing to move to Yorkshire. I really appreciate your ITK contributions to this forum, and I know that many other will agree.
Keep it up please, this place would be duller without your sense of humour and very gentle, inoffensive, winding-up of the small handful of those excessively gullible / overly sensitive souls here

Nixon just posted Huddersfield and Barnsley battle for boss. But it’s behind a paywall obviously!

Duff may have been a good fit last season.. I thought so. In League 1 ? Even more the case. Not arsed if he travels or not, rather someone commute and be passionate and good at their job than have a fella who lives over in Slaithwaite who's less competent or worse just not even that bothered.
I get that 'commute' means entirely different things from Cheltenham or from Leeds but if he is up for it and the right man then fair game.

Duff knows the league, it's the kind of manager we need to be honest.

Good appointment for me, learnt a lot of his skillset from Sean Dyche and sounds a lot like him when he speaks. If you look at how he turned Barnsley around in a short space of time they were in a very similar position to us needing a complete reset.
He hasn't always been an instant success, didn't win in his first 10 games at Cheltenham and had a rough period at Barnsley at one point but give him time and lets see what he can do.

Surely he would move up and just have a day or two back home each week?

Feels very underwhelming, but willing to support whoever is appointed. God knows they'll need it.
If we act quickly and decisively then, good. There's a lot to be done this summer. Time to get to it.

Duff. Expected/suggested as possible that it will be announced later today. If so I guess he agreed to move then or at least move up for most of the week. Things we have learnt not to do below and all of this will be very much considered for the next appointment. - do not have a manager travelling home a long way too often (NW and AB did this, Neil did not spend enough time in Yorkshire at all) - Have a fit squad with great preparation - Install the correct disapline and rules to all the players knowing what is expected. I think Duff would be an excellent appointment for us but he needs to comitt to the club and the project by moving to Yorkshire, its not long term when someone has a life 3 hours + drive away you need them around everything more often than that. Not according to Nagle and Justasmithers, as has been pointed out several times by people who are ACTUALLY itk.

According to you we didn't give Duff the job last time purely because he wasnt going to relocate. According to you AB was going back to Germany couple of times each week. Makes sense.

I don't get the objection to Duff for him living in Cheltenham. It's only a 3 hour drive away. He'd probably spend a couple of days a week down there with his family and live up here in a rented and serviced flat, possibly paid for by the club as part of the deal.
I doubt he's going to risk relocating his whole family up here, given our very high rate of manager turnover.

Not at all sure Duff is right guy. Issues at Swansea were similar to here, and he responded in the same way as AB. There was no clear direction. He did not relate to the fans.
Hope he doesn't come our way.

Genuine question, what is with this insistence to the manager moves to Huddersfield?
How many of our previous managers have moved to Huddersfield?
I can think of David Wagner, Jan Siewert and Danny Cowley, but who else?
