I had us down after the Bristol debacle but reality is starting to hit home now. Not only some of the teams we will be playing but also we will be back in the 1st round of the F A Cup and also the dreaded Paint Pot Trophy or what ever it is called these days. We can all lay the blame at someone/s feet but we definitely need to take on board what a disaster this could be if we don't get it right and for those who think league will be easy, think again it will be every bit as hard as the Championship.

As long as we can compete in local derbies with the likes of Halifax and Bradford Park Avenue most of us should be happy. (Do they still do the Charity Sheild?)

Should reinstate the Yorkshire Electricity Cup.
Not sure we’ve won a trophy since (playoffs aside).

I am looking forward to the West Riding Cup. We might be down but were certainly not out.

I remember losing at both Halifax in the League, Bradford PA probably in West Riding Cup. Colchester, Shrewsbury, Torquay, Scunthorpe and many more.

I seem to remember us losing at Workington, Aldershot, Southport, Hereford and the list goes on and some fans seem to think its bad now.

I feel strangely serene today, relieved we know where we’ll be next season and happy we’ll have some different players to watch. We might even be able to win the odd game.

I’ve come to terms with this amazingly quickly. It’s not like previous relegations imo. I think lots of us have been resigned to this happening for a while. It’s to a very large degree self inflicted and the culmination of a series of bad decisions and poor judgment made by the club. We can debate these decisions but the fact is that just about every senior executive involved with the running of the club over the last 5 years has played a part - some more than others. The atmosphere in the ground for the most part this season, has been poor as we sat there witnessing our continued decline. Personally, I have faith that KN, with a season of observations and learning under his belt, is going to prove to be successful. I don’t dwell on the past. Planning for the new season will hopefully already be underway and if it means we have to watch League 1 football for a season ( hopefully only 1 ) to enable us to return to the Championship stronger and more competitive then so be it.

History is a race between education and catastrophe. It seems catastrophe won this season. If you want the present to be different from the past, study the past. Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it. Let's hope that KN dwells a little on the past year and puts it right going forward.

Unfortunately I don’t think it will sink in for some until next season starts. Teams with much bigger budgets than ours have taken years to come back.

Like many on here (and quite a few have seen this more than once round!) I've seen us in all four divisions...for more than one season as well. Granted its only 2 seasons in the top league and 2 in the bottom for me.
So league one itself I'm OK with. Especially if we are competitive. The worst years we're probably actually when we were in this league and bumbling around the middle not even remotely threatening anything under Ritchie etc. Then the fixtures with fewer eye catching games felt like a real drag.
And I've also seen other teams bounce up and down - bigger fish for a bit then struggling (Bradford) or the other way round (Bournemouth, Brentford) or both (luton).
So I'm accepting. But realistic that we have to switch on quickly to the challenge.
I think the only think that will rankle is not FA Cup round one. It's that bloody tinpot trophy and potentially playing a prem u21 side.....grr

Walking away from the ground yesterday i was surprised just how many fans were saying "see you next season" "i am going to renew my season ticket". I think most of us already new were we gone but next season we will be the team that everyone will be out to beat, because we are ex Prem and Championship and it will be tough. Lets see what the club announce on May 8th regarding season tickets, having a big fan base next season could be crucial

Since 1970 I’ve seen several relegations as you can imagine and it has always hit me quite hard - there are of course more important things in life and after a while I get over the disappointment and I’m always there for the following season. But as overtonterrierspirit said, I too have come to terms with the situation very quickly this season, I think because it has been expected for so long, and whilst I’m ready for a break from my visits to the JSS - made more special this year because my six year old grandson has been with me to every game (apart from the night matches!) - I’m already looking forward to next season and dare I say I’m optimistic about things going forward from here on. UTT!

I'll tell you what's sinking in for me, not having to watch some of the worst football I've seen from a Town team in 30 years. We might be in the championship but the way we've struggled with the absolute basics in the last few months would be embarrassing even for League Two.

Just worked out I've been to 30 away games since beating West Brom in 2018, and seen 3 (three!) wins. 23 goals scored, 51 conceded.
And some will tell you its been a fantastic time to be a town fan!

Im looking forward to next season. I havnt said that in a while. I might be being optimistic. But i have faith in Nagle that he will get it right.
With the right signings, a good start to the season and the fan backing we know we have when things are going well we have the potential to be a real force next year. UTT.

It has been painful viewing many times this season, and in most seasons in the Championship tbf. One of my favourite Town teams was in League One in 2009/10, Pilkington and Roberts on wings, Rhodes and Novak in attack and we were scoring goals for fun.

Even though we have a game left, somehow it feels as though the season is over .... Bit of a strange feeling isn’t it? It doesn’t bother to me one bit whether we finish on 45 points or 48 now, we’re down and nothing’s changing that. I’d rather us lose next week, see Ipswich promoted and leeds in the play-offs which we all know they don’t do. I’m just glad this season is over, I’ve been totally and utterly fed up with us for weeks (the odd game aside) as we simply didn’t learn anything from when we were in the same position 12 months ago. I guess the drop down allows for a chance to re-set. I took a look at what awaits us next season last night and really outside of perhaps half a dozen teams, there’s not much to get excited about. I’ll be seeing how the close season goes and how we start next time around, take in the odd game and see where we are at Christmas before renewing my season card in any form unless the club are virtually giving them away this summer. Trying to carry any increase is going to be an incredibly hard sell.

Remember when everyone was happy with relegation from the prem cos we will win more next season? Then had a shock when we very nearly dropped straight down again. That's the more likely scenario again this time with this garbage squad. To think we will even make the play offs is delusion.
