so after this awful season on the pitch I am trying to work out what is needed to be done now to get the club into a postion to bounce back at the first attempt. This summer will be huge and potentially even more difficult for Mr Nagle and his team than last summer. In no order I am thinking below.
- Quickly confirm if AB is staying or not (personally I would prefer he stays) - Quickly appoint a new manager if AB is leaving - Set the budgets early for recruitment, including how much of transfer income can be re spent. - Decide now who we want to keep, who needs a new contract and have it sorted early - work out our style of play and formation and then work out what players are required to fit that formation. - Plan a more intense pre season to get the players fitness to the level required. - get rid of the bad eggs as soon as possible. - Get the players we expect to want to leave out of the door for good money as fast as possible. - Season tickets announce the pricing, I am going to suggest something new now I would make a guarantee to anyone buying for next season that they have the prices set for the next 3 seasons with agreed increases say 5% this season (£314), 5% next season (£330) and 5% following season (£346) and anyone not purchasing next season will pay far more next season than the agreed amounts, I would even say fix this seasons prices for next and then guaranteed pricing for two seasons after, something that encourages the fans to purchase next season a longer term incentive. - Try to resolve the stadium issues and if we can get this sorted this summer then there is less to think about off the pitch.
I expect a base squad something like the below, with 4 or 5 additions.
Maxwell Chapman Ruffles Pearson Headley Spencer Turton Jackson Lees Ayina Hogg (offer 1 year) Koroma Kasumu Wiles Jones High Austerfield Iorpenda Ward Healey Simpson
Release or Sell Nicholls (if good money, if not happy for him to stay) Helik (need to get the correct money however 3mil +) Edwards Balker (can we get money back for him, I doubt he will want to stay) Yuta (I can not see him wanting to stay, and wages would be an issue if he is fit and takes a reduction in wages then fine to stay on) Rudoni (if the right money then let him go, if not he would be class in L1) Diarra (let the waste of space leave, let another club have his problems) Sorba (as above let another club have his attitude, still worth good money but he needs to go whatever) Matos Mahoney Rowe Del (thanks but no thanks) Bojan ( I would try and sell him I think he would be bullied even more in L1) Rhodes (I am sure he is out of contract, I think its time to say goodbye) Harratt (lad has issues better we dont have to deal with them) Hudlin (L2 at best let him go)

Most of your post was waffle as usual but I’m quoting this bit because your ‘suggestion’ will bomb season card sales. Any price rise will have a hugely negative impact on how many will renew, even if they freeze prices I think there will be a huge drop. When you sat in the directors seats on Saturday, did you not notice how many empty seats there was in the Kilner bank for a game of that magnitude? I watched the highlights, go watch them and see just how many empty seats there was in the main stand. Alarming.

Yeah thats what we needed, another thread. From a guy who told me off in November for posting we should get rid of DM before New Year in his 'Have a little patience' thread......Then went on to say 'DM will defo be leading Town in 24/25 Championship season', thought Gag n Bone was the only comic on here.

I actually thought the place was busier than I expected on Sat, while sat in my none padded seat. Season tickets 100% will increase over the next 3 seasons, how it is done and a way of showing loyalty to those purchasing next season is my suggestion, I have no doubt there will be a drop in sales for next season but I very much doubt it will be what many on here think, 15-20% reduction in sales would be my guess with the correct incentives and pricing, one thing is for sure a reduction in prices is extremly unlikley.

Probably all those that clapped them off on Saturday. some of the players desereved a clapping off, for some it was not about clapping what they have done this season. For me I wanted to stay and clap Jonny Hogg as it could quite possibly be the last time we see him as part of our squad and despite an awful season, he for one deserves one last thank you for everything he has done for the club and that might have been the last chance (hopefully it is not however).

There is not point expecting better decisions for a failed team next time around.

Whats needed first is a proper performance on Saturday. Didnt say a result, a proper performance. The rest then is down to the owner to sort out this mess from the top down. Getting rid of contracted players is always an issue. Trying to keep the 2 or 3 that we want to keep but may attract interest is another issue for the owner. The manager situation is down to him and the owner. I do think Kevin will side with a manager who tells it like it is, its not a popular thing in English football but Americans like it. Once we know who we want to stay are staying that will be evidence of the clubs ambitions. Its only a few but it might be the spine next year.

Wiles has proven in the past that he is a good player, particularly in league 1. A full pre season behind him and I fully expect him to be better next season. You also can't judge Pat Jones on 1 game. He has come on in the past and played very well.

Wiles is up ther with the worst signings in the club’s history and Jones has looked further away from a footballer in his last 2 cameos than he ever has previously.

so after this awful season on the pitch I am trying to work out what is needed to be done now to get the club into a postion to bounce back at the first attempt. Maxwell Chapman Ruffles Pearson Headley Spencer Turton Jackson Lees Ayina Hogg (offer 1 year) Koroma Kasumu Wiles Jones High Austerfield Iorpenda Ward Healey Simpson Release or Sell Nicholls (if good money, if not happy for him to stay) Helik (need to get the correct money however 3mil +) Edwards Balker (can we get money back for him, I doubt he will want to stay) Yuta (I can not see him wanting to stay, and wages would be an issue if he is fit and takes a reduction in wages then fine to stay on) Rudoni (if the right money then let him go, if not he would be class in L1) Diarra (let the waste of space leave, let another club have his problems) Sorba (as above let another club have his attitude, still worth good money but he needs to go whatever) Matos Mahoney Rowe Del (thanks but no thanks) Bojan ( I would try and sell him I think he would be bullied even more in L1) Rhodes (I am sure he is out of contract, I think its time to say goodbye) Harratt (lad has issues better we dont have to deal with them) Hudlin (L2 at best let him go) That base squad is horrendous. If we go into next season with that squad and only 4 or 5 additions we’ll likely drop again. If they don’t take a sledgehammer to the squad this summer then we’re in trouble.
