Can completely understand the logic in Radio Leeds’ request to speak to Kevin. Typically though, would it not be in the remit of the CEO to make such media appearances?

Sod radio Leeds. They don’t give a shiny shite when you contact them to complain about their reception coverage in West Yorkshire re Town. It’s about time we cut ties with them all together.

Don’t really get why people not happy with this letter. He’s apologised for the shit show of a season. It’s good to see he has acknowledged it hasn’t been good enough. It’s good to see he recognises the losing/under dog mentality that has plagued the club for a while.
Yes the diary will be good as it gives more information.
I don’t think it will be Andre’s decision he is talking about when says awaiting 1 very important thing. Think Andre will want a bit more time.
I have heard there is some progress with the stadium. Maybe it is that

Supporters,
Without meaning to state the obvious, this season has been far from easy. There hasn’t been enough to enjoy, and we now must embrace the challenge that relegation has presented us.
As you will know, last season I committed to taking over the Club regardless of our divisional status, because what we envisioned for Huddersfield Town then was a multi-year, long-term project to overhaul everything we do both on and off the field to create a team and institution to all be proud of.
In no uncertain terms, relegation to Sky Bet League One this season does not change that goal and ambition.
Since long before taking official operational control, we were more than aware that fortunes would not change overnight from where we inherited the Club, and this season has taught us the hard way of the true scope of change that is needed, and we are fully committed to making that happen.
I am not in the business of making excuses, and I take full responsibility for the difficult season that we have endured together, but having had many questions asked of me throughout the season - the majority of which I have encouraged and invited - I believe our supporters are entitled to a more complete view of the tasks that we have had to face since taking over.
As we know, prior to our involvement, we had a great many harsh financial realities to face that a great number of factors had contributed to. We realised extremely early in our discovery process before taking control that a number of key areas would require increased funding to flourish and reach its potential, with our First Team squad, Academy and Club infrastructure at both the training ground and John Smith’s Stadium all ripe for further investment. They are all projects we have already begun, and are ongoing.
Sadly, due to the formalities of the takeover taking longer than anticipated, we could not begin this work as early as we would have liked, and for a number of reasons, our preparation as a whole for the 2023/24 season fell well below expectations and the standards we aspire to both as a sporting enterprise and a business.
What also became quickly evident was that, as a result of that past malaise, the culture of the Club was not conducive to a winning environment, both on and off the field. This is something we have already begun to repair. Of course, attempts and investments were made in January to help at First Team level, but in a difficult market and notoriously uncertain transfer window, we ultimately couldn’t do enough to change our fate.
Having found ourselves at the tail end of the league for two consecutive seasons, it is more than clear that change is needed. For you supporters, 10 of the last 12 seasons have been spent fighting relegation, and that’s a cycle we need to stop. Just as you do, we only want individuals at our Club, on and off the pitch, who want to work and give their all for Huddersfield Town.
That feeling will underline our approach to our summer trading. Being a part of the Huddersfield Town family is a privilege, and that won’t be allowed to be forgotten.
Long-standing plans already in place will give our First Team the best possible chance to succeed next season, putting together a pre-season itinerary that will incorporate top class training facilities in Austria and ambitious friendly fixtures that will give the side a platform from which to leap into the new campaign. With the proper preparation, the fitness, intent and togetherness of our team should no longer be areas in which we are questioned.
Work on our infrastructure has already begun, too. You are aware of our ambition to take full control of our home at the John Smith’s Stadium for the first time since it was opened, and that has not changed. We are investing in our youth and our future, increasing the facilities at our training ground to give our Academy the platform from which it can flourish, and produce talent over time that is ready for our First Team.
We have also put in place a leadership group to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Club with the desire, ability and shared expertise to grow Huddersfield Town in areas that have previously been left unexplored, with further strategic appointments to be made and announced in the near future to further those ambitions.
Your frustration, anger, disbelief, antipathy and hurt is not only shared, but understood. While we cannot take back the season that is now behind us and undo overnight the problems of old that have been allowed to fester for too long, we can seek to learn from the past and do better going forward, and it is my feeling that we already are.
This can’t happen again, and we won’t allow it to - you have my word.
Tomorrow, we will launch our 2024/25 Season Cards and begin to look to the future. We hope to see you all there alongside us once again.
UTT.
Kevin Nagle
Owner and Chairman, Huddersfield Town

I'm not sure what people want? Which ever way you look at it, actions speak louder then words. He says he knows it's been shit and they're going to do something about it. I'd rather he just stopped talking and started fixing things, to be honest. It's just been constant noise since he arrived and on the pitch we've got even worse. He seems to say a lot without saying anything at all. Similar to Darren Moore actually. To be fair he's hired a CEO, DoF and a few managers. He's also changed/ changing the Ops director. There's a advisor on Commercial Activity. Whether you rate the appointments or not that is a lot of top level change He's committed to - and is - rebooting the Academy He is trying to sort the Stadium but it seems like it's not straightforward - has always been the case it would seem He has put in a few million into signing players - probably only behind Hoyle and Ruberry in terms of investment So I think the words are followed with actions Are they the right people - debatable - but KN has put his money where his mouth is

I hope the diary has some more detail. It seems he's more comfortable with a mate interviewing him rather than journalists who have been on the whole very friendly to him and the club when harshness was required. Not a fan of this Kevin. I dont give a shiny shit about this. I like radio Leeds coverage but Oggy is a terrible interviewer. Great commentator but poor at asking the real questions.

Letter seemed to be focused on intent and reference to the past which lacked winning culture and past malaise”
Some taking on board the lack of transfer activity couldn’t change fate. A little light on accountability with arguing with fans in summer on weak squad, with “don’t demonise these players” and “proof is in the pudding” cock sure reply from Kev.
Disappointed with the lack of meaningful content in the letter. Self inflicted instability from consistently poor decision making is nearer the mark.
I suggest Kev writes/says less but improves content in addresses to the fans.
Appreciate Kevs in a difficult place, flare players are all pi55ed off, AB isn’t sure (wants assurances), got a DoF which needs sacking but can’t execute anything with AB this summer in a timely fashion if has to recruit a new DoF and then Edwards just a hologram in background.
If AB does stay, he might just do a Carlos, if a better offer comes in at preseason, he can resign and leave Kev high and dry.

Yeah, I'm on board with that. I'm reassured that there's a recognition that a large part of why we've been so shit stemmed from piss poor preparation last summer. However, whilst the words are all well and good, if genuine signs of things coming together aren't seen very soon then I expect all the words in the world won't stop people losing patience. First is the manager/head coach. I'd hope that we've got a definitive answer one way or another regarding Herr Breitenreiter before the weekend. If the answer is Auf Wiedersehen then I trust there's a shortlist of replacements already drawn up, and the names on it approached within minutes of AB's resignation being received. Whoever gets the gig needs to be a builder. To start a project. There are some great firefighters out there (Warnock being the best of the lot!) but the best firefighter is not necessarily the best builder (or vice-versa!). The club needs a reset - so it's an opportunity for that person to build something that hasn't been half done. Player recruitment needs to be done early, as far as possible. It's a tough balance to strike as the best players are likely to have enough options that they can afford to take it to the last minute in order to get the best deal for themselves, and the selling clubs can play interested parties off against one another in order to strike the best possible deal - but the sooner they're in the building the sooner they can get themselves settled in their home life, get to know their teammates and into preseason, the better they're likely to perform.

What meaningful content are you expecting in a letter days after season finished? Nicholls save percentage (crap) Sobra set pieces assessment (great or crap) Surely the content is what happens between now and end of transfer window? Honest high level assessment - detail should come next not blow by blow

Sod radio Leeds. They don’t give a shiny shite when you contact them to complain about their reception coverage in West Yorkshire re Town. It’s about time we cut ties with them all together. Based on the fact a large proportion of us don't get coverage it would be very welcome to fk them off all together for something you can pick up in and around Hudds. The DAB reception and the fact they insist on putting us on there is a complete farce. They know its a huge issue but dont give a fk.

They make a big thing about separating the three West Yorkshire clubs onto different frequencies. Tune into the Town frequency at 2pm to get the team news on the way to the game when Leeds have a 12:30 kick off and all three frequencies have them on? Are they having an interview with Denise DeBartolo York?

Calling out players is a bad idea. Especially when we want rid of them, that definitely doesn’t need to happen. Obviously still awaiting André decision. Pre season in Austria is a positive start for that though. By clearly trying to persuade Andre to stay it appears Kev endorses what Andre has said about the players.

I’d be shocked if we’ve arranged the location of preseason without the input of a first team coach, who else would make that call this early? Hints to me that AB might be staying. It looks like all will be revealed tomorrow. Big year for KN.

A Radio Leeds interview would have been pointless
It would either be 1 hour of Catherine Hannah thanking Nagle for his honesty or 1 hour of Oggy not daring to ask the obvious questions

Then mumble something about Bradford City being on frequency LW 104.

Been reading German mag Bild (like Mirror or Sun). Agreeing Austria indicates AB staying. In Bild he says Der „Yorkshire Post“ sagte er: „Die Fans sind klasse. The fans are Class (or special). Bild says a decision will be made this week.
We wait on. Maybe Austria training means some local recruits? Change of mentality.
AB has constantly referred to 'Quality" in his interviews. Players who can pass 5 to 10metres. Players who chase and win the Duals'. Will be good to see if we can deliver that.
Early on he talked about variation on corners. Did we see much beyond Standard crosses. Corners after corners with no shots on goal. No wonder opposition were happy to give corners away. Not much different from goal kick. Actually better as most Town players are up front. Great attacking move.
AB had a lot to do. League 1 will not be a walk over. A load more discipline and hard work will be needed.

The letter is fine but we still don't know what "good" looks like in terms of success. Moreover we still don't know how we will achieve "good".
He can't promise success, no-one can, but he can indicate the what we are looking to specifically achieve, how it will be done, who will do it and how long it is anticipated to take.
You could read this and take that we are aiming to have;
Control of the stadium Better infrastructure Commitment to making the team better
But there is no specific target for the level the 1st should be aiming for or confirmation that the investment will be provided, or sought, to achieve that.
At the end of the day the success of HTAFC will be judged by results on the pitch by the 1st team. All the other things are important but nothing is above the 1st team being as good as it can be. What is the level that is believed to be as good as we can be?
I don't hear enough specifics, yet, to be completely on board with the project.

I can't understand what more Kevin could do in such a short space of time post our confirmed relegation? His open letter to me implies that the club has faced significant challenges and acknowledges the disappointment of relegation. Despite the difficulties, the club remains committed to its long-term vision of improvement both on and off the field. It highlights the need for investment in various areas, such as the first-team squad, academy, and club infrastructure. The club acknowledges past mistakes and is determined to create a winning culture and giving us team we can be proud of again. The Plans are outlined for the upcoming pre-season preparations and infrastructure improvements. Overall, the message conveys a sense of accountability, determination, and optimism for the future in my honest opinion.
