Twitter user/podcaster "training ground guru" surprised by Nagle laying the blame at the old guard. In the tweet there is a link to a meet three years ago with Town's previous regime. Marsh and Nosworthy now at Chelsea and Man City. If he is right, you do wonder if Nagle knows what he is doing....not to be all doom and gloom, just thought I'd post an outsider's perspective. Says there indeed was a pretty good culture at town, and a vision.

I think too much change has been a big part of our problem and more specifically how some have responded to that change. It’s always an issue when new owners/hierarchy come into businesses. Some people embrace it and some are too set in their ways and moan that it was better before. We’ve had a lot of change and those that can’t accept it need to be moved on.

The "old guard" referred to here is not from three or four years ago, its what was in place when KN came in.

If only Kev could have gone back in time to visit Leeds Rd.
He’d definitely know what this meant to us all if you were lucky enough to see the sights and smells of the Town ground…

Huddersfield Town were relegated to League One in the very first year of Mr. Nagle's tenure. It was Huddersfield Town's first relegation to the third tier since 2001 and the first time they'll play in the third tier since 2012.

I hope St Dean and Phil take note of that comment.

The point I'm making is that KN was in the chair when we eventually went down. If you look at the graph of our demise over the last few years you cant blame him for everything. Same is true of AB. He was the manager when we got relegated, but he was only here for 28% of what was an awful season and we shouldn't blame him for everything. Both are culpable for some part of the shambles IMO

He can't draw conclusions from two seasons ago, before Hodgkinson ran us aground financially. He can't draw conclusions on now from people who left some time ago. Nor can he draw conclusions from interviews, rather than an in-depth view of the club from being in and around for a significant period of time. Especially when he hasn't been in to the club since his prior interviews, some time ago. Smacks of 'my mates can't be at fault'.

But whatever.

But whatever. Whilst nobody can argue it didnt need to be - it had been coming hadnt it?! We were in the championship for 5 years i think after prem relegation - and in 4 of the 5 seasons we were fighting relegation. Its all in the past now though - no point in looking back other than to ensure we dont repeat the same mistakes again wherever possible. KN has clearly invested alot of money poorly thus far - but the investment continues and we all hope that will be the case for yrs to come with better outcomes. I am coming round to the belief a full reset is perhaps what was needed after the all too brief prem days in the sun.
