Pete Wild? I would respectfully say we could do far, far better than that always assuming we are going to make a good fist of returning to the Championship at the first attempt. On what basis? By better than that what do you mean? We have tried the foreign option in AB. We have tried the safe option in Moore. We have tried the rookie in DS and MF. We won't now get a big name in league 1. Wild has over achieved consistently. He deserves the chance higher up. I really don't see the correlation with a big name and success. And a merry go round manager gets that title for one reason only. Wild would be another project/gamble. Could get on board with Rowett or Pearson but personally I’d be looking at Alex Neil or McCann now Doncaster Rovers are destined for another season in League 2. I suspect Rosenior’s stock currently too high. If we’re genuine about getting out of League 1 at the first attempt, I really do feel we have to bring in a “name” - definitely someone who has managed at this level previously- who will get the players going again with the promise of a proper transfer budget. The main thing is we don’t drag our heels over this appointment, the planning for next season has to get on track as quickly as possible or we’ll get left behind once more.

I agree with you on that but he did play for us and he showed the qualities of a good leader and he has charisma we know that. One day he may be the best man for the job he seems to do pretty good in whatever he picks up and has his head screwed on, needs experience elsewhere though first if he does well our advantage might be he would want to come here The last person who took us to a play-off final was the least charismatic manager we've ever had, so I'm not really bothered about how charismatic he is. I just want a manager that can do the job. We've had too many rookie managers here, it's about time we employed someone who's been there and done it. If Hefele is any good, I'm sure he'll become a manager elsewhere. Darren Moore?

How do we sell the club to a new coach worth his salt, given the diatribe about the culture and some of the players at the club? Any new coach starts from scratch. How long does it take for him to get wise? It's a shit show top to bottom. Automatic promotion? Ha!! Could be looking at another very hard season.

I get your point and in the situation we find ourselves I agree it’s the wrong time. However with the heff I do think he has the charisma to become a good manager and he could certainly motivate, whether he has the tactical brain I’m not sure but once he has cut his teeth somewhere else maybe would be a good option, was a shame we let him leave the club. The fetish some of our fans have with ex players is misplaced in most cases though If Michael Hefele hadn't played for us, not one person would be suggesting him for the job. We have some weird obsession with ex players and managers at this club about wanting to bring them back. Let's just get the best man for the job and leave the nostalgia to the historians. I totally agree was trying to make a point (badly) re some suggestions re getting coaches from other clubs would be the way forward ie McKenna,Carlos so threw heff in to see the reaction as he basically fits that category. I'd like to see someone with a bit of experience in management but showing progression bit like the lad at Lincoln maybe a Pete wild type

I have had enough of ex-Town players returning as players, lets not start bringing them back as managers now!

5. A coach from the youth system like we did with Corberan. I know he divides opinion on here but he made a silk purse out of a sow's ear in his second season, bottling the final aside. Heff 1st team coach at WBA, loved here, got coaching n DOF qualifications. Would unite the fan base I'm not saying we do get him but he couldn't be worse than most of the appointments or suggestions I'd have him as DOF, gotta be better than the current clown show.

Thank god you aren’t making the decision, bombed out of Town , and you’re putting all the blame on our current DOF, our failings have been years in the making, might as well have Coco the clown alongside Heff and have a comedy couple.

Don't think Tim Clarke has the required coaching badges...
