Now I understand some of the names won’t be achievable for us and won’t drop to league one etc but we really need a manager ideally young imo who can play a new attractive brand of football with the aim of getting towards the top end of the championship within 3 seasons.

Realistically, from that list, I'd go for Grant McCann.
Knows the division well, both as a player and a manager.
Won promotion with Hull City from League 1 to the Championship.

This poll and others we’ve had for the last million managers only cover who we would like, but not who we think is likely to be the manager.
I’d like Wagner or Warnock but expect Cartwright to reappoint Moore due to his success in getting the Wendies promoted.
Not that I’m fixated on previous managers but this club is weird, even become toxic, and a track record of success here counts a great deal in my book, today. We’ve had too much experimentation and arseing around, need to return with the tried and tested, we need to stop the rot and falling any further.

Nixon, who admittedly has been hit and miss with town, says “think they’re dreaming on one”. I’m guessing we’ve contacted rosenior?

Benni McCarthy
Done it all as a player. Champions League, Premier League, AFCON, World Cup etc
As a manager he took Amazulu to 2nd in the Dstv Premiership, there highest ever finish, and into the CAF Champions League. Current first team coach at Man United (Kieran McKenna was a first team coach as Man United before joining L1 Ipswich)

Do we need to do another exhausting interview process? Our last one was only a few months ago. We'll have a stack of CVs big enough to fill the 02 arena the amount of managers we get through.

Not sure on names but would much rather have a coach who can develop a team and a style of play, like Rosenior, than a man manager like Pearson. These lads need double sessions, to learn how to pass a ball and break teams down. Someone who can rebuild our entire midfield. Not a guy who doesn’t step onto the training pitch and gives them numerous days off. We need a nerd, not a showman.

Duff for me, wanted him after Moore’s sacking, no reason to change now.
I’ve seen Barrow twice this season, last time only three weeks or so ago at Crawley. They’re workmanlike, but no discernible style of play. I don’t think Wild would bring excitement.
Realistic options, in my opinion: Alex Neil, Paul Heckingbottom, Challinor (Stockport), Richie Wellens (Leyton Orient - best side I’ve seen in L2 in 22/23 season by a mile and they’ve settled well in L1 in 23/24).

Only an observation but didn’t Hull’s chairman say one of the reasons Rosenior had been sacked was due to his negative, defensive style of play?

I've gone for Duff aswell. Did well at Barnsley in a very tough league 1 and I thought they were hard done by with VAR in the final. He was the wrong fit for Swansea but his teams generally score plenty of goals. He also won league 2 with an unfancied Cheltenham side.

Whenever Duff was interviewed either at Cheltenham or at Barnsley he always came across well, in my opinion. Clearly an intelligent guy, I got the impression he could be tough if needed. I appreciate he allegedly wants to remain living in Cheltenham, but that isn’t insurmountable; it didn’t prevent him doing well at Barnsley.

If the reason AB walked was not for money (Presumably) then you have to say no manager on the list is out of reach........Question is are the big bucks still on the table & do they want to work in league one?
