Benni McCarthy Done it all as a player. Champions League, Premier League, AFCON, World Cup etc As a manager he took Amazulu to 2nd in the Dstv Premiership, there highest ever finish, and into the CAF Champions League. Current first team coach at Man United (Kieran McKenna was a first team coach as Man United before joining L1 Ipswich) when he was at amazulu ,was he too good to be forgotten

If we were still in the Championship I'd vote Rosenior. After the drop I'd go Pearson.

I'm surprised so many are going for Pearson. Surely if we're looking long term he's not the answer? Just had a back operation and has an undiagnosed neurological issue. I'm not sure he's the right man to take us forward, he just needs to get himself back to full health.

We not only need a manager but someone to help build a football club.
I don't think that it will be part of his job description, but I think some wider input will be required.

Pearson?
Why?
You’ll have to help me with this! It’s 2024 not 2011
Is he back to health - obviously has to his main priority? Will he ever manage again?
Nah doesn’t work

I don’t get this thing for Pearson. What has he actually achieved? 1 League 1 & 1 Championship promotion over 10 years ago. Pissed off umpteen owners, players and boards and also upset Ostriches the world over. Had a number of breakdowns and the less said about his son’s membership of the audio visual club the better.
Pearson is not the answer.

Presumably there’s no odds anywhere because we’re now League One They probably just can't be arsed rolling it back out again, it seems we employ managers on a rotation system 😄

Duff for me, wanted him after Moore’s sacking, no reason to change now. I’ve seen Barrow twice this season, last time only three weeks or so ago at Crawley. They’re workmanlike, but no discernible style of play. I don’t think Wild would bring excitement. Realistic options, in my opinion: Alex Neil, Paul Heckingbottom, Challinor (Stockport), Richie Wellens (Leyton Orient - best side I’ve seen in L2 in 22/23 season by a mile and they’ve settled well in L1 in 23/24). I've gone for Duff aswell. Did well at Barnsley in a very tough league 1 and I thought they were hard done by with VAR in the final. He was the wrong fit for Swansea but his teams generally score plenty of goals. He also won league 2 with an unfarelocate eltenham side. Isn't the problem with Duff that he won't relocate from Cheltenham ?

Appointment of Liam Rosenior would be good, could be complicated by to his payoff terms. Alternatively I'd go for Gary Rowett safe pair of hands, his teams are well organised & hard working - UTT.

I think a better poll would be on the type/profile of manager we’d be looking at than a specific individual. Eg, German geggenpressing, PL academy manager/director.
Duff wouldn’t be a bad option. Wellens as well - he seems to be from Manchester so the location might not be an issue like it apparently is for Duff.
Would love to go for someone like McCarthy, or some other PL coach/manager, but it would be a bit too much of a risk for our situation. We need a quick injection of hope and winning mentality.

Still don't get the love for Pearson! Apparently he was great at Leicester? Apparently Bristol fans loved him? Not sure why as they did fk all with a bigger budget than we ever had in the league? I must be missing something, can anyone enlighten?
Rowett should be a contender assuming he's not staying at Brum.

I felt quite strongly back in February that Duff was being unfairly mischaracterised as one of the "merry-go-round", "might as well of [sic] kept Moore" candidates.
For me, he's still a rising talent coming off the back of his first career setback.
One of the main reasons we feel uninspired by known-commodity / merry-go-round types is because we already have a pretty good idea of their managerial ceiling (conversely, much of the appeal of an overseas candidate is the excitement of the unknown). Personally speaking, I'm genuinely interested to see how high Duff can go.
Where we stand as a club at the moment is crying out for someone to come in and implement the same sort of cultural re-set he did at Barnsley two summers ago IMO.

If the reason AB walked was not for money (Presumably) then you have to say no manager on the list is out of reach........Question is are the big bucks still on the table & do they want to work in league one? Kev dog is putting his money where his mouth is off the field so far, bringing chief officers in from Villa and Sheffield United, without the same sort of FFP rules applying in L1 as the championship, I’m sure money will not be a barrier to getting his chosen man.

Thoughts on few of the more unusual (two not unexpected imo) names on odds list?
Leighton baines - Everton development coach
Mike Williamson - MK dons
Dave Challinor - Stockport

Voted Rossenior, but think it is very unlikely he would take it.
Him aside I really have no idea. We have been through so many managers that I no longer have any faith in us getting anyone that will work out.
Firstly needs to be someone that actually wants to be here, secondly someone that can bring the players together and get the best out of them, and the young talent we have.
