FFS I come on here in the hope of herring some useful info on the Austria tour and all I get is puns. So like Haskins I'll attempt to get this thread back on track. What does everyone think, I reckon we'll have a mountain to climb to get anything out of this trip. Could see us on the slippery slope to another tough season.

Aye, a proper Franzy… I’m wondering how we switch this from winter sport type ‘puns’ to fish puns… 🤔 We'll toboggan down a steep slope, curling & slaloming between winter sport & fish puns, probably taking into account the net value of frozen fish, floundering around for a bit before we jump into our safety net of fish puns & plaice all our faith in old faves like "I hope our new midfield is turbot charged", I've no trout about it, it will happen. |

Not seeing the fish pun there Mosh… Sorry I posted this before I noticed the fish puns. Eel have to make his own arrangements to get to Austria I suppose. Thought it was one. Gutted then stitched up like a kipper. |

It appears Bradford are going to Austria too. On the 24th July. Maynard said he’d heard it was late July. Maybe we’ll be playing them out there

So we're playing more non-league sides this pre-season than we did last pre-season 😂 The club will be pointing at Warnock again if we don't get promoted this coming season, all down to him setting the example of playing none league teams  |

I think it was said that the games in Austria would be against better quality opponents. So it seems pre season games are building up over the six weeks
And I know we're playing non league clubs at first and not all the first team squad will be involved in all of them but the Harrogate game is their first friendly but our fifth!
It would also seem we're coming back earlier than usual on 24 June

Has anyone done these tours to Austria previously?
I'm possibly thinking of going for a few days and looking at flights to Munich
Anyone got any advice? Flights used before, accommodation, best place to stay etc.

Not sure what it’s like nowadays, but during the summer that Emley pitch used to be hell to play on, so much so it’s suffered a few ACL injuries on it, myself included.
