Andy Hughes would a good reason to look back. why exactly? Quality, experienced coach with a good track record. Fact he's been here before is irrelevant. We've had worse coaches at the club more recently imo. I think Duffs coaching staff will be very important, look forward to seeing who they are. If it were Hughes and I've no reason to think it would be, I wouldn't be upset because he's been here before!

Sacked by Norwich already. Bit harsh. Slightly disappointed with the timing as I'd have him back here any day but after hearing Duff yesterday feeling very positive! Could have been the start of a new Wagnerian Ring Cycle!

Guess it was promotion or bust then ? A lot of Norwich fans comments suggest he was going either way

I got the impression that Paul Clemente leaving last year (ended up going to Norwich) was down to Warnock. If he is now out of work, surely bringing him back would be a good move?
Nicholls mentioned him many times as a factor behind his good form at the time. If MD doesn’t have a Goalkeeping coach in mind it probably makes sense.

Based on Angus Gunns performance the other night he can stay away. We really need to stop this weird obsession of going round in circles with ex employees of the club.

Since the current GK coach was brought in by the club rather than Breitenreiter it seems unlikely there is a vacancy. And if we ditched him it would be for someone Duff knew and really wanted.

Isn't there a saying along the lines of "every hero is only a hero for so long until they become a villain"? Probably completely misremembering the actual phrase but it's pretty relevant to this discussion I think. It’s from the dark knight “you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain!” Yeah I know that one but I’m sure they nicked it or adapted it from an actual historical figure I just can’t remember who, for some reason I’m thinking a Roman Emperor

Could have been the start of a new Wagnerian Ring Cycle! Well we have Das Rheingold now so we could cut straight to The Valkyrie for the stirring leitmotif. Can imagine coming out of the tunnel to that, like the scene from Apocalypse Now.
