I'd hope for a couple of fixtures against high-quality opposition in Austria, plus a home friendly against similar opposition on 3rd August.
I have been critical of our pre-season schedules for the last two seasons. 2021 in particular was farcical, especially with that two games in one day experiment. I get why we did it - get as many players minutes as possible in a shortened pre-season - but we were undercooked for that campaign in particular. Last year's jolly has received enough attention. This season so far seems much better. Plenty of early games for fitness, then hopefully some higher-class opposition to test systems and experiment with teams once players are fit.
