Mauricio Pochettino gone after 1 season. Finished the season well and seemed to be starting to get a tune out of that expensively assembled squad.
Hard to see them being successful if they just keep chopping and changing.

No loss whatsoever. Vastly overrated manager that's won the grand total of two trophies at three very big clubs over a 10-year period.

According to "our" BBC "Tottenham have asked Chelsea about the availability of Trevoh Chalobah, 24"
Amazing.
Here, or on Nicks fantastic "ex players" thread?

My son is a Chelsea fan and he is shocked and frustrated as things seemed to be going better but I got the impression he was not happy there for some reason. Not sure why but I think the fact it was a mutual separation says a lot. Maybe the transfer dealings being too far removed form his control was the issue. Not sure. They certainly are a basket case of a club of late, firing managers like crazy, signing people on 8 year contracts to spread the cost but tying their future budgets up.

Some managers do a good job at lesser/smaller clubs like southampton in his case, but other clubs where expectations are higher well...it dosnt always work out, ultimately with Man city ruling the roost domestically i wonder whats considered success for the other big English clubs, a Champions league place..ie runner up or also ran is the pinnacle for many now i suppose.

And for me that’s the natural way to go, you support your local club. Having said that I grew up near the east end and watched, and supported, West Ham as a boy but, although I always keep an eye on them and their results, I have been a Town season ticket holder for almost 30 years. I wanted to be able to support my local team with my kids, and asking them to follow a team 200 miles away just felt wrong to me.

I'd have had to support: FC Iserlohn 46/49 SG Hameln 74 Borussia Dortmund Southampton (closest pro club I can find to Bulford, Wiltshire) South China AA, Hong Kong (Hi Dale Tempest) MTV Soltau SVE Fallingbostel Glad my uncles encouraged (forced?) me to be Town

I don't live in the UK, I have lived in the USA for 25 years, he was born here and still loves football. To be fair to him he has always followed them, they were successful when he first got interested, but he has not moved on to another club because they have had less success. I don't know why I still follow Town so closely having been away so long. Would be much easier to follow a Premier League club as it is pretty easy and not all that expensive to watch Premier League matches. Its just not where my heart is. I will watch Premier League games if I have nothing else to do and I happen to be home, but I don't go out of my way or give them priority over other things

Once it's in your blood it never leaves you. Now got my two grandsons coming down with me to games when they can. When you look at the tops their mates wear, plenty of Rangers, Celtic and Aberdeen and now 2 Huddersfield ones👍

Cartwright hasn't been great with signings but Boehly is heaps worse. Almost a billion pounds spaffed away like a spoilt child, with no strategy at all, and plenty of flops. In spite of a bloated and strange squad, and a slow start, Poch had got them playing towards the end of the season. Conor Gallagher was important to that. Due to Boehly's spending and the need to balance the books, he decided that Gallagher, along with Chalobah and a couple of others, needed selling. Pochettino walked as a result.
Chelsea, if run properly, could compete just as well by buying very few players in, such is the quality and depth of their academy.

Their local club is Aberdeen, so in theory I should take them there as often as I can, just to get them more into football. As their dad isn't into football! Trouble is when I was stationed at RAF Leuchars in the 1980's I used to watch Dundee Utd so couldn't change my Senior Scottish Football Club allegence now.🥴
