What seems to be the consensus of the Barnsley fans?

I've seen him a few times for Barnsley as my best mate is a Red. Kane has got the talent when can be bothered, consensus is he gave up a bit the back end of last season. "Should be good for Town, especially with him linking up with Duff again".

Picking up a 25 year old on a free, who's played for Duff before, signed for Barnsley for £1.25 million, in a position we're crying out for bodies.
Seems like a no-brainer to me...

What seems to be the consensus of the Barnsley fans? Talented, lazy, no heart for a fight, not mobile, good enough for Champ, will not be missed, will be a big miss, great on his day, downed tools when didn't get his move. Just pick any of those at random and it will cover pretty much every opinion I have read on him.

Could come back to bite us. - Baller. He could do to us for Town what Hammill did to us for Town. - I'd have been delighted if he'd have re-signed for us. However he's doing the next best thing and contributing to huddersfield going bust. - He’s been excellent these past two seasons & would’ve been a key player the season before as well if we hadn’t loaned him out to play Benson, Styles, Palmer & Gomes ahead of him. No idea why he gets stick off of some of our fans. Very rarely misses a game & always puts a shift in. Never goes hiding on the pitch & always shows for the ball. A quality footballer.

Standard football fan opinion isn’t it.unless it’s a star player of a club that’s been taken away for big money.mixed.people see football differently.I think realistically he’s good on the ball and can pick a pass but maybe lacks pace.crucial thing could be duff knows exactly what he’s about.

(Personally I think it's a decent signing)

Nearly 80% pass completion last season with the highest key pass completion at Barnsley. 15 goal contributions from midfield aswell.
We've been crying out for somebody to dictate play in midfield and he's got that ability.
It'll be interesting to see how Duff plays him because he played slightly deeper for him than last season.
He's proven quality at this level and just coming into his prime.
Looks like a top signing to me, even better on a free.

Hogg had a better pass completion last season (mainly sideways and backwards).

Funny how some are labelling him as lazy and can’t be arsed, yet his old manager wants him back. Guarantee he won’t have been lazy if that’s the case.

His relationship with the Barnsley fanbase has deteriorated since last Summer as he's made little effort to conceal his desire to leave the club, culminating with the excruciating BBC Sheffield interview, below, in December. Understandably some of their fans have since struggled (just as many of ours would) to set aside their suspicions about his commitment in order to assess his performances entirely objectively. On the whole he's been decent throughout the last two seasons, particularly under Duff. To be fair to him - a quick check through YouTube reveals he's never been a natural interviewee (does far better in written articles) - will be interesting to see what Raj is able to get out of him

Sounds like a fingers crossed case that could go either way.

Seemed totally disinterested.

I bet he sounds a lot different to that interview if/when he has his first interview with us.

Sounds like he actually looks comfortable passing the ball more than 5 yards so will no doubt improve us. Happy with that.

Good stuff. The beginning of the midfield rebuild. The first signing we've made that I've thought is absolutely necessary, given existing personnel. We had wing-backs (although the signings have improved the options we have). We didn't have a midfielder who could pass a ball and was comfortable in possession. Now we need more (greedy, eh!)

Reyt signing this. Obviously pending further player movement in and out, is this how we're lining up next season at the moment? ------------------------Maxwell/New GK------------------------------- --------------Spencer--------Balker-------Helik---------------------- --Sorenson----------------Kasumu/New DM--------------------Miller -----------------Kane--------------------New CM/AM-------------------- ---------------------Healey--------New ST-----------------------------
