Huddersfield are confident of a £2 million deal for Luton striker Joe Taylor at the second attempt.
The Terriers were frustrated in their bid for the forward in the summer and hope to agree a deal for January.
Taylor was kept by the Hatters despite being allowed to go to Yorkshire for talks - so they are also likely to be sympathetic to the move next time round.

Might be lazy rumours, but still rumours abound that a deal for Joe Taylor is lined up.
Take your pick who could go; Ward (with months left on his deal), Radulovic, Hudlin, Harratt, Marshall, Lapado? I think by and large and I’d let all of them go for differing reasons.

Not sure if Taylor will be the answer, only managed 83 mins all season.
He is only 5'7 so hopefully he will be fast as we really miss some who can run pass the last defender and produce a composed finish.
Have very little faith in our recruitment team.

Even if Taylor signs, we're still short of at least one more striker - someone to 'lead the line'. It shows how badly we've recruited, when the best option we have is still Danny Ward!

This Joe Taylor saga might yet have a twist... The last I read was Nixon or the bloke at the Telegraph saying that Luton would most likely look on us kindly in January because they mucked us about in the summer, but my personal feeling is that they will not sell because they are dangerously close to the drop themselves. If they should be relegated they'll lose Morris, Adebayo, and Brown, making Taylor their first choice. It's also quite possible that manager Edwards won't see Christmas, and an incoming new manager might well fancy Taylor as a starter. I'm certainly not pinning my hopes on getting him at all, not even on loan.

He’s basically all those things you said we miss. Wouldn’t be too harsh on him about the minutes he was always behind adebayo, morris,Jacob brown and Cauley Woodrow…no idea why they didn’t let him come in the summer although think brown was on his way back from injury. Guess the worry for us would be match sharpness should it happen.

He looks to be a real danger from anywhere within the attacking half. He appears very fast and direct and has only one thought, to get into a goal scoring position. The problem with highlight reels though is that they only show the good. The bad and the ugly are conveniently overlooked (go for it punners)

His height maybe an issue also though I think we generally have enough of the ball for it not to be an issue, also we seem to have stopped the aimless punting up to players heads.

The issue for me is that although he did well at Lincoln, he isn't getting any minutes for a team near the bottom of the Championship, which is where we want to be.
I am not saying for one minute that I don't think he is good enough but with our situation, do we want to put so much pressure on a kid to solve our striking issues when the player has barely kicked a ball all season?

Guess there is also that isn’t there that he’s likely going to be coming into a side(if it happens) where virtually none of the other strikers are scoring, unless someone picks up form the next 6 weeks.Could be a bit of a burden. Get your point on a team at the bottom of the champ but realistically they’ve just come down from the prem and has a promotion the previous season so it’s not really a relegation sides squad.Managers will always tend to stick to tried and tested in the situation they’re in and on paper they’ve got 4 good ones plus him. Personally I really do think we need two but just don’t think we can make that happen tbh.

To be fair, he'd be replacing our existing strikers who've all hardly kicked a ball all season 😉🤣.

Totally agree. We need an experienced forward(s) like Beckford years ago, someone still very capable but also who can guide his younger teammates through a game.

The other issue is match fitness. Like Healey last season, he wasn't really getting minutes at Watford and when we signed him in January he was nowhere near match fit. Radulovic came well after the end of the Finnish season so wasn't match fit and Ladapo had only token minutes in pre-season and still isn't match fit heading into December.

Luton have alot of better options in that area to be fair.
