Do I hear the sound of stamping feet and a teddy-tantrum?
Or have the pubs closed early on Yorkshire Day?

The owner himself has said, that there will be more sginings . Give the bloke and his team a chance. All signings cannot and are never made before the season starts or even before the final day of the window for all clubs. That is regardless of how much money you have , or are willing to spend. Nagle has shown he will spend, January didn't go according to plan yes, but that was not due to a lack of funding.

Can you please share with us how much Evans, Kane, Sorenson & Miller are being paid? If you're not excited by these signings, who were you expecting? Why are we more likely to go down than up? Perhaps you ought to tell the bookies how wrong they are?

Starting early with the most ridiculous post of the year awards 4 good sensible top end league one / lower end championship signings as far as I can see, good ages (something we had to address) fit the system etc Couple more clearly needed including a striker - month to do it

The words from Kev for last 12 months are “do things differently”, “surgical”, “smart”, “strategic” regarding the playing squad
When Kev arrived he seemed to refer to his “data guys” as part of his strategy
The academy seems the main focus and Kevs ambition to compete against Man City, Man Utd etc for local youngsters with direct pathways to first team
As with life’s investments, many things don’t go as planned amd diversified approaches help progress when options go wrong
I think Kevs approach could burn money year on year with no progress on the football pitch and on the balance sheet
If Kev bought 5-6 league 2 quality prospects (like Town did with Rudoni) and just loaned them out ..he would probably have a better return than trying to make a diamond out of tonnes of coal

Been away a few weeks, watched the pre season and filled with optimism for the season ahead.
Came here for a quick catch up and the first thread I read has an OP with the negativity of a black hole.
I give up, I’m not getting sucked into the vortex and disappearing over the event horizon… Warp factor 8 in the opposite direction Scotty!!!

If you’ve seen anything of pre-season, you will know Evans particularly but both Miller and Sorensen have also stood out. We’ve also - as it stands - managed to keep hold of both Helik and Nicholls whilst offloading the (allegedly) disruptive influences of Thomas and Rudoni. We could do with another 2/3 coming in of which one has to be a decent striker but there’s still a month of the window to go.

I don't see it working out, I do see it being very expensive. Been there, tried it, didn't work. Has any club our size made it work? Regarding signings the business looks decent to date with a striker being the obvious omission. I get the distinct impression Kevin knows how important a position this is and they're doing all they can. The fact they were in for May suggests they are prepared to spend. The worry is we seem to be losing out on key targets when competition is high. Is that down to money or other factors?

Blimey...if we get stuffed at Peterborough in our first game, this place will implode...there again, if (when) we win the level of over optimism will be sky high.. We don't do middle ground..but that's football I suppose... It does make DATM entertaining tho' .

The OP does have what I would describe as a negative posting mindset/stance.
It puzzles me why folk get so highly strung about Town. They’re not going to give you anything much than a bit of relief and escapism from real life.
I’ve often wondered if there are certain accounts on here that are just bots and designed to keep people engaged.

As far as I can tell from the facts that we KNOW, is that we would not pay Alfie May a fortune(for this division) in wages. I am definitely onside with that for a number of reasons. The rest of our transfer dealings are either fact, the players brought in and those who have gone out, or pure speculation, guessing and being led by spurious reports on social media.. The 'waffle' from the Chairman is simply him answering this speculation and guessing by reiterating we are engaged daily in looking at and trying to bring the right players for the manager here. I await any further ins and outs having absolutely no real knowledge of exactly who we are interested in and truly no idea of the costs or possibility of them coming here. Being mates with an ex footballer and his advice that transfers, loans and contracts could be complicated in his day when his dad represented him, so 'fuck knows' how intricate it is now, tells me I cant comprehend the details involved, so cant comment on what Kev and his team 'should' be doing..🤔

Crewe continue to excel...one interesting stat is that in the 2020/21 season only 10 clubs were responsible for the development of more players in the top 4 divisions than Crewe...ie, lads coming through their system are more likely to have a career in football than those coming through lots of Premier League clubs Academy's. Reading and Charlton stand out as well...arguably similar clubs to ours...and I know there's an element of looking back here, but you sort of have to do if you want to bring the focus forwards and see what players have gone on to success, but I guess we aspire to be like Sheff Utd...someone has to mould the next Kyle Walker, Harry Maguire or Aaron Ramsdale into the start of their football journey, and there's no reason it can't be Huddersfield Town.

He's right. If you don't believe me, look at the league table.
We're joint bottom of the league and we haven't got a single point yet! The only reason we're not rock bottom is because H comes before W in the alphabet!
We haven't even had a shot on goal yet.
It's disgusting!
