The same as the past few years, (unfortunately this year with a 'minor' name change) the aim is to predict what the League 1 Table will look like at the end of the season. Predictions may be somewhat difficult as the transfer window runs for another month before it ‘slams shut’. You get 24 points for correctly predicting the exact position of any team, 23 for missing it by I position, 22 for missing it by 2 positions etc. For example, if you predict Town to be #1 and they are, you get 24 points. If they finish last you get 1 point. If you predict every position correctly you would get the maximum number of points available (576). Ties will be decided by who is closest predicting Town’s position (i.e. 24 pts kinda helps). If still tied, the number of correct predictions (Hits) is used. You can use the ‘quote’ function to cut and paste my predictions (next post) with yours. Or you can go the manual route.and cut and paste the list below. Submissions to be in before the Aug 10th kick-off against Peterborough. As last year, the intent is to post an update on how everybody is doing after each set of games. I haven't given this much thought or research yet but what I would like to do is thank you in adavance for doing this once again.
I always enjoy seeing where I am each week and the various movers and fallers.
I know you'll say it's only updating a spreadsheet but it's at the very least a weekly commitment which I along with others are very grateful for.

Notes - A few changes from my prediction in May. Crawley probably the most significant drop. I suggested they'd be serious contenders to get out of the division if they got their defence to be as good as their midfield and attack. Ironically, that still applies but not in the way I meant at the time. Peterborough have sold some decent players, but recruited well, so only a small drop off for them. Wigan should be much better now their ownership issues are sorted & Reading may be if theirs are sorted soon - I rate their head coach & they have some decent players.
Burton have done some really impressive business but I think they'll just fall short. Rotherham will start really well but probably tail off towards the end. Decent squad, sorted early but I don't see them maintaining momentum. Wouldn't be surprised to see them pushing for automatic until March.
If Reading sort out their ownership issues I might place them higher.
If we sign a pacy left sided CB, a solid defensive midfielder, and add pace, power and the ability to operate in tight spaces up front - and do so without losing any key players - I'd put us 2nd. If we lose Helik, Nicholls & Spencer without replacing or strengthening elsewhere I can see us dropping to just above the relegation zone. Realistically though, even if the latter happens I'd expect a splurge in January, so I'm not overly worried about relegation. As things stand though I do think we're short of being able to call ourselves serious promotion contenders. Playoff hopefuls, certainly. But I think we'll start badly, then improve but not quite enough to make top 6.
