He has looked great all through pre-season and followed that up yesterday. Great to see. Not in the 90 mins of pre season I saw, the same negative character traits were demonstrated despite good few minutes at Guiseley. Good 20 mins yesterday...hopefully he can crack on but any suggestion he's in a resurgence or is some kind of hero is massively overstated currently. Average, with three other Town midfielders having better games. One goal and an assist. Is that average?

I use my eyes to judge performances on the football field, not stats that don't have context, and what I saw away from that period where he effectively contributed, was a performance that looked broadly similar to last year 🤷♂️ Hopefully he cracks on, he's obviously done it before at this level - but its far too early to be marking him out as anything other than an average player in a big midfield at the moment.

Can I just check are we still all declaring a Ben Wiles resurgence? 🤷♂️
He, combined with Evans downhill slide, are a big part of why today was hardly a surprise - we've had just over 3 good halves out of 12 so far as a team, and having a nothing of a midfield is a big part of that.
This break from the league has come at a very good time...we know the squad we have until January now, and we've got some work to do with it.
