Well I’m strangely excited for Saturday..
Feels like we may have turned a corner..
I fully expect us to obliterate Stevenage As we romp back to the championship..
4-0 town..
What could possibly go wrong..

Town win and Simpson won't get a kick. Hope so but we looked troubled by pace yesterday so I'm sure they'll be looking to expose that

Pride before a fall? Home win but they’ll be niggly and flopping over to time waste, once we circumnavigate the bus.

Genuinely not been this excited in a while. Statement win against a team that came close to the playoffs last season.
Hammer Morecambe as well.
I don't think we're ever going to concede a goal again let alone lose...

They aren’t a bad team. I expect us to have some problem solving to do, which I think we will manage. 3-1.

The general theme among the group is we will accumulate 120 points..
It’s inevitable that we win the league..
Can we not apply now for immediate inclusion into the championship 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

Another Burton coming up 😀 I was as disappointed in myself as the result, because I bitched and moaned about their tactics when they simply did their job.

I think too many are getting carried away with 1 decent performance.
Town 12 Stevenage 1
I think they will score.

Do we not do match threads properly for cup games these days? We have Morecambe before we face Stevenage.
Stevenage were a real surprise package last season who ran out of steam. They don't have star quality, but make up for it by being (last season, at least, under that sex-offending fraudulent bastard) organised, doing simple things well, making life hard for the opposition from minute one. They also scored quite a few, particularly early in the season. If they bring the first 2/3 of last season's form to us, they'll be a tough nut to crack. They did lose their way a little in the end, winning just 5 times from February onwards to stymie their play-off push. Goals also dried up. After banging in 3 or more on 9 occasions before February in league and cup, they didn't from the end of January at all, drawing 8 blanks in 19 games, although they rediscovered part of their scoring touch in the last 4 games of the season. Of more interest to many, they conceded just 46 goals all season. All sides in the play-offs conceded more. Jamie Reid top-scored with 18 in the league (22 overall - and the best return of his career). They lost 2-1 and 1-0 away at Portsmouth and Derby respectively.
For what it's worth, I don't think they'll be repeating the feat. The change in manager, loss of form, and second season syndrome are all things I expect will bite for them this season. But on Saturday they'll be up for it - first away game at a big club, still got that confidence from last season, despite the slowdown in results, a good defensive record, and a win yesterday all adding up to a side that will make it ugly, make it hard, and look to steal points. Prepare for more of the 2011 game, where the physio was their man of the match.

An early goal and we potentially could send out a bit of a statement win,in terms of scoreline.Should we not score early we may have to be very patient.like someone has said we could be up against a team that is organised and sat in a shape. I’m going to predict Hogg to be left out for Kane.Though duff may want to keep the same side and bring players on once the game is won to keep the defensive and attacking aspects of the midfield similar.Gutted to be missing the first 3 home games due to holiday after been at Peterborough yesterday but hoping to see a couple of wins sat in the sun!

I hope most of us are safely back on earth after the Peterborough victory (me included) & the manner it was achieved, how nice it would be for Town to win the next 3 home games comfortably with no goals conceded, no injuries, no bookings/dismissals & defo no one transferred, well lets hope so.
Our next two league opponents played each other on Saturday & as painful as it might be I'm sure MD & staff have or will be watching most of the game for anything that will help secure the points in both fixtures.....Only our 3rd game v Stevenage & unbeaten with a win/draw, a nervy 1-0 possibly?

A good win on Saturday, but Peterborough had their chances.
A team with a more clinical front line would have punished us.
Our defence still worries me.

Yep, the one blemish from Saturday was our noticeable lack of pace in defence and if we press Stevenage like we pressed Posh, they will get chances to exploit that.

Yep, the one blemish from Saturday was our noticeable lack of pace in defence and if we press Stevenage like we pressed Posh, they will get chances to exploit that. TBF, Spencer is quick but Jones does the 100m in 10.9 seconds. He's surely the quickest in the league so not representative of the pace we'll face most weeks. Another mobile centre half would be good though, because I think our wing backs will get caught the wrong side of the ball at least a few times a game.

I think we have to show respect and not presume this will be easy. If we apply ourselves properly we will win comfortably.
This is where I see Duff will have them mentally prepared with confidence but professionalism to get the job done.

My view is if you play three at the back then you would expect a minimum of two to have decent pace, we currently have one in Spencer......It is a bit of a worry & one MD will be looking to rectify playing with this formation.
