Excellent thread Bassingham. Iβm sure you remember 1978-79 when we were Halifaxβs feeder club: 5 of our former players came back to Leeds Road on Boxing Day when we won 2-0 and they were managed by Jimmy Lawson, which might explain things. Micky Kennedy also played in both games. It was even more of a re-union at the Shay in April where we won 3-2. Lawson still the manager, plus Hutt, Steve Smith, Sidebottom, Firth, Kevin Johnson, Mountford (and Kennedy) - matches your Bolton 8, but we can add Bobby Campbell who was sub at the Leeds Road match, but whoβd had his contract cancelled before the return. Someone must have a team photo.
