I wonder if the club has a plan to create a more identifiable fanzone. On Saturday, I spent a while looking for the new fanzone in front of the Riverside only to realise I was standing in the middle of it!
I think it would benefit both fans and the club to have something akin to what is offered on the continent and at international tournaments.
I appreciate fans of all ages need to be catered for and canalside was great for this (and really well supported it seemed)
If I remember right, weren't there plans to build something over the other side of the river?

From what I hear, it should be ready about October time. I think it could be where the old swimming pool was.. Wanted to be in sooner, but too much work to be done inside.

KN mentions this in the interview with Steven Downes.... hopefully ready in October as you say, up to 800 people and called H Town But also this is just the first of 3 improvements around fan experience he also said And added to that, he also said we wouldn't recognise the stadium in 12 months and that was linked to completing the stadium deal

From what I have seen so far in and around the stadium KN is very keen to do things right. Professional, our identity back but just as important get people down there spending money.I am sure when the Fanzone is done it will be top knotch. KN knows HTAFC cannot survive on Match Income alone and quality investment in and around the stadium and the Town itself is where the money is made.

Professional is the perfect word for everything to do with infrastructure so far. The best bits of American mindset and business whilst also seeming to recognise, and embrace, what it is to be a Town fan. I'm also wondering if in a few years we might look on relegation as a blessing. All the positivity off the pitch is currently been matched with success on the pitch and could start some serious momentum. Weirdly, in 5-10 years, getting relegated from The Championship might seem like a massive upward turning point whilst surviving in the PL was the moment that set us on a downward spiral.

Fanzone aside I hope there are plans to replace all the tired looking cladding around the main entrance and somehow fill those bloody corners in

Im sure KN will reveal all, once he gets control of the stadium. Kirklees Council see it as a liability which given their other commitments I fully understand. He sees it as a business opportunity which I also understand.

Sounds a great idea and for 800 people which is a fair size indoor venue for match day.
Is it definitely the area where the gym was? Kev previously mentioned about reopening it as a gym under full control, but maybe it’s not viable anymore.
I am hoping the Odeon one day closes (once the new cinema is up and running) and we can purchase the whole building. Could be a good hub for housing a better ‘megastore’, town museum etc. wishful thinking maybe!

I go to the Picturedrome in Holmfirth quite often and Huddersfield Centre is crying out for a music venue of this size, I am sure KN is aware of this. Yes the stadium could handle large acts and the Parish (which is now at a lot better venue) are good but a venue that can hold around 800 could be used pretty much any day of the week.

What’s the situation with the swimming pool etc nowadays?
I used to work there as a lifeguard under KAL.
I know the offices have been transferred and done up for town staff, but what about the actual leisure centre, pool, gym etc?

For example "Wait till you see whats in store...be prepared to be excited" noises doesnt really marry up to me with what ultimately is some nice murals and a dreary pre match video that saps any energy out of the game before kick off.

There use to be over 4,000 members use the Centre before it closed so it should be viable but maybe not a swimming pool, i was told that is why it closed because of the cost of running the swimming pool and steam room.

I do appreciate them, the murals are "nice" with lots of thought put in to what makes the cut, love the Jordan Sinnot part especially, and the video is excellent, I've watched it at home a few times, but unfortunately not in the context of when & where its being played along with the state of the stadiums sound quality; its akin to playing a silent movie before kick off. The video is an energy sap on the game, and to suggest otherwise would be wrong.

I don't really see any big acts coming to the ground when they have the piece hall under 20 minutes away

The Piece Hall has found itself a nice little niche, in very good surroundings and loads of bars.
The JSS is more for your one off type gigs and as others have said, can cater for larger audiences and bigger bands/artists.

I like the fact fan zones, stadium upgrades are being done, for the match day experience but without proper investment on the pitch it's futile as there will not be any fans to enjoy it, match day experience is winning and having a team worth watching. goals, good football etc. I know we have made a great start but the holes in the team/squad are as obvious as the nose on your face.

As mentioned the PH holds circa 5k but it won’t be able to attract the huge acts like a 20k stadium would. I love the PH and have enjoyed many gigs there but it has a limit to who it can pull in. Deffo room for the PH and the stadium to hold concerts, and why not have two great venues locally rather than traipsing to Leeds or Manchester?

The video is great. The first showing v Stevenage got a great reception before the lads came out. It’s a good piece of work, we just need a real walk-out tune to follow it up. Ignore the misery guts folk Justasmithers.
