Doing some reading up on him, highly rated at Wolves, just in need of actual game time, so this could be a great opportunity for both him and the club. By fan reports and news articles, he’s strong in the tackle even though he’s small in stature, is quick over short distances, has great endurance and is very tidy on the ball. Sounds like he’s exactly what we need. Sounds like Roberto Carlos! And the other signing is VVD reincarnated by the sounds/looks of it

Can he tell the difference between a teammate's shirt and an opposition player when passing the ball?

If that is the case sounds like a good signing. With system we play there are 3 first team central midfield positions to compete for. There's three CM positions, but Hogg ain't gonna be playing in either of the two more advanced roles, and Hodge's supposed main position is the deep lying one. They're only playing in the same team if Hodge plays more advanced than usual. Edit - I didn't initially realise Hodge was more a DCM.

Massive fan of Hogg,, the guys a genuine club legend.
That said he is way short of the player he once was now. Only saw the second half at Walsall, and whilst he wasnt our worst player, he was really poor both with and without the ball.
If Hodge is anything like the player wolves think he is then its got to be time for Hogg to finally stop being the automatic starter hes always been. Think he still has a role as a bit part player and his experience and the example he sets is well worth having, but it's really time we replace him in the first XI if we can. Hopefully Hodge is the signing to do that.

Hogg ain't been that great in any of the games this season if we're being honest. He was okay when he came on against Morecambe, but has generally looked a shadow of himself. Absolutely the bloke and he's obviously still incredibly fit, but the games are passing him by.

Really impressed by this lad. Hes exactly what we’ve needed for a long time: a dm who can receive the ball under pressure and calmly pick out a pass. He also has a good engine and did some important tackles yesterday. Hope he’s given a run in the team now alongside Kasumu, as they are the only players capable of making our midfield look decent under this current formation.

Let's hope his hamstring (or similar) is ok after Saturday. Looked to be struggling before he finally gave in.

I am impressed too, although it looks to me as if he is more suited to the no 8 role with kasumu at number 6. They did a good job on Barnsley yesterday and bossed the midfield, giving Wiles more freedom to do his stuff, something we haven't seen for a while.

I’m not sure but did he come off injured? Slight groin problem. Duff says its hopeful its nothing. The lad has 2 Irish U21 games coming up, so I hope he does not play both or all or in fact any of them..

The good news is that Duff was insinuating it will be Herbie Kane who will be Hodge's natural replacement and not Hogg.

Injuries are crippling us so far. If we don't achieve our aims this season, then at least there's a convenient excuse for why.....!!!

Said very unlucky as he did feel his groin and they were making the sub but the ball didn’t end up going out for 3 minutes and in that time he felt something pop!! It is handy that Kane is back but we haven’t half had some bad luck.Everyone gets injuries but not sure at any point this season have we had anywhere near a full quota to pick from. Sounds like Bojan will play substantial amount of minutes tomorrow also, which I know he needs but be typical he picks something up with koroma now out and ward and Healey nowhere near ready to play! Hopefully the hodge one ends up been not too bad and only misses 3/4 week as Kane did with his groin.

Why has he joined the Irish U21’s for a scan?

Why has he joined the Irish U21’s for a scan? I was surprised by that also. You’d have thought that we would have withdrawn him from the squad. Presume it’s some stupid International call up rule.

We have 4 strikers better than Koroma (as a striker) despite his goals. Hopefully he gets better soon and can take up his deserved place on the bench...we have better, much better

Koroma out for at least a month too[/quote, Another player injured, the curse of the modern day footballer what on earth are they doing. When i think back when i was in the force's many moons a go, we would do a 20 mile march carrying a 35/40 lb Bergen "rugsack and we would just get a few blisters and aches. Now and again there would be a strain or sprain when we went over hillier terrain and nothing like these modern day footballers get.
