I said it as soon as it happened, this is why Pep and his teams (ie the way they play) are the scourge of football, because every fucking team pisses about with the fucking ball at the back trying to play out from the back, and that's why our 4th goal last week and Northampton's first goal today happen, because every fucker tries to do the same stupid fucking thing and apart from being fucking tedious, it's fucking stupid and so fucking risky

It's a double whammy for some of us, because today's OG and our 4th goal last week were ridiculous, with players who aren't talented enough trying to pass around back in precarious circumstances.
Not only do we have to despair at a ridiculous goal, we also know the dinosaur Boomers are gonna think they are being proven 100% right, so 'gerrit forrard' is gonna be even more fuckin prevalent š¤£š

The Helik own goal yesterday was possibly the worst of the lot but I reckon Iāve seen similar goals to that at least half a dozen times in games Iāve been to over the last three seasons or so. I can definitely remember Sutton (twice), Crawley, Colchester, Leatherhead, Carshalton doing it. Bloody ridiculous to see non-league and lower league players arsing about just like yesterday every single game it seems. Youād never see goals like Northamptonās first five years ago. Does my head in.

Thatās not the point. The point is why are they happening every week nowadays? I canāt recall being in a football crowd anywhere where the fans were excited by the ridiculous messing about and risk taking we see at the back nowadays. The change to the goal kick rule a few seasons ago is a big factor in encouraging teams to play like this. |

What's even more staggering is that we benefitted from a goal like that in our previous game yet less than 20 minutes into our next game there we are doing virtually the same thing for the opposition. Laughable really. |
