The Bury 4-4 away is still one of my all time greats . We were directly behind the goals in that packed shed , can still see big Ewan's toothless grin.. It's a crying shame that great little club are no longer a football league club and oh yes that 4-4 still sticks in my mind, had many great days out at Gigg Lane watching Town

Going back 60+ years to the late 50s or early 60s at Leeds Road, I have vague memories of standing behind the goal at the scoreboard end watching us play either Plymouth or Portsmouth and being 0-3 down after about 30 mins but eventually winning 6-3. Les Massie was the man in those days but I can’t remember who scored in that particular match. Hopefully this can be verified and is proof we have actually managed it. Could be a while before we do it again October 1959 apparently against Pompey Great info folks and memory from lifer49 as well... I have ‘99 years and counting’ and it’s sister publication as well back in The Whisky Isle and there might be something about it there but I’m not back until Monday night so hopefully someone that’s tecchy savvy will find out more before then ! I’ve also among my many Town publications got a cracking wee book called ‘The Huddersfield Town Mascelanitey) - Hope I’ve spelt that right but probably not knowing me ! It’s got everything like that ‘Biggest Town Comeback’ among hundreds of other things so I’m sure that it’ll be definitely in there, but as I say hopefully someone can fish it out on the internet before I get a look at things probably on Tuesday it would be... Must’ve been some game for The Fans and the players for sure but not the Portsmouth ones for sure and it’d have been a long and winding road hone for them for certain... I wonder if it was that famous Scottish boss Bill Shankly 🏴 in charge when Town pulled that amazing comeback off !

Certainly finished 6 3 v Pompey in 59. The site I'm looking at doesn't give the scoring sequence.

Watford away in League Cup early 80s when Graham Taylors Watford were a top side. Won the first leg 2-1.... then we were 2 nil down in the 2nd leg (before Big Al and myself had got into ground). Fought back for a 2-2 draw and progress through to next round.

I suppose if we're 2 down at half time every game it gives us a chance. Then again...
