I totally get the sentiment but I wonder how far behind Wycombe in terms of revenue generated we actually are? If you ignore the fact we squandered circa £300m and Mr Nagle's personal wealth (whatever that might be) from a revenue point of view it would be an interesting comparison. I think the real question is do we use our resources as well as Wycombe (and others) do? Mr Nagle would point to how much has been spent on the team, players, managerial appointments etc but the fans would point to what we see on the pitch. And for all the debate that rages on week in week out I think that is the nub of the problem (as far as most fans are concerned). It's not necessarily investment it is the use of the investment and execution.
To get back to your original point, you are quite right it is a poor state of affairs when we are hoping games are going to be postponed. Although I would offer aren't we just kicking the can down the road? We need to face up to the weaknesses we have and get something done about it. We have to play Wycombe, and everyone, eventually so MD and the team need to start pulling performances out on a consistent basis. Are they capable? On their day they have shown themselves to be. However on another day they can be half arsed rabble who couldn't win against a bunch of soft toys. This is what I've been trying to explain on several threads; KN has put shitloads of money in (certainly more than DH post-PL), it's just been wasted by that pillock** MC. ** Expecting at least a yellow for that going by past notifications on the admin thread. I see no reason for a yellow as you have simply stated the truth, and besides who is MC ANYWAY?, could be anyone with said initials. Miley Cyrus, Macaulay Culkin, Marie Curie, Mariah Carey, the list goes on.

So is this Wycombe game on or not? Waiting on Sierra Leone and Koroma. Spencer and Marshall been called up by Northern Ireland, just announced today. If Koroma gets called up the game will almost certainly be postponed...

No team should have to play because players have been called up for international duty. Full stop.

We had 15 days notice for the first international break in September, 11 days for the October one. Tomorrow is 10 days away from the Wycombe game...

It doesn't matter if we play Wycombe next week or next year, we will still get beaten by them.

It doesn't matter if we play Wycombe next week or next year, we will still get beaten by them. After having two players who qualified selected Stockport went out of their way to get the game at home to Wycombe postponed by playing one of the under 21s who needed one more league game under his belt so they could request it to be called off by the EFL.......Has this weeks result showed that turned out not so well for them, PC today for Crawley game should hopefully answer if JK is going to Africa or not?

Duffer mentioned there’d been a conversation/contact about Koroma this morning but at the time of the PC 2pm Wycombe was still going ahead and he was planning for it - but could change !

Split opinion on this one ! Part of me says we’d perhaps lose to them at this point so possibly a bonus there... Part of me cringes on the thought of a lonely boring Saturday in November... ☹️ Still hopefully the weather is decent and I can use the day to get the winter coat of red cedar on the back fence !

This is becomming a farce. Even though tickets have been sold for all of our 3 postponed games this one is off at just over a weeks Notice. Just cancel the L1 programme as well.

It's unacceptable and needs sorting. Pity those loyal Town fans who've booked time off/trains/hotels etc

10 days notice is really poor. I'm sure there'll be a few out of pocket now with non-refundable train tickets. I'm of the opinion that they should just play the game regardless of the call ups. It's only 3 players and we have a big enough squad to cover for them.
Thankfully only 1 more international break left this season after this. It's in March and it will be our home game v Wycombe at risk...

Coventry are fancying the Wycombe manager I believe, so the postponement could be good news for us considering the form tables.

They simply don’t give a Continental F*uck about football fans...
Wish a wealthy Town fan would sue them (EFL) for all stress it’d cause about loss of goods. (Hotels and Travel) etc...
I hugely sympathise as I have the stress at the business end of early booking losses (time wise / earlier cheaper) etc -
All for trashy (nowadays) and fixed (seeded) International bloody football as well ! ☹️ 😬

I looked recently to see where some of the local teams are playing, Emley travel to Dronfield to play Sheffield FC, Liversedge are up at Bishop Auckland, Brighouse & Ossett both have home games.......The one I'm thinking of going to is Penistone Church (3rd) v Golcar Utd (2nd), went to the opening game of the season at Longfield which Golcar won 4-1.

If it’s anything even half as good as Clachnacuddin v Forres Mechanics that I was in attendance at on Saturday you’ll be onto a winner inverino... Some pure fab games at these levels for sure ! ⚽️ 👍

Let's be clear, we could have gone ahead with the game. We chose not to. Fans will be inconvenienced but it's a HTAFC decision.
I'm guessing the thought is not only to have a full squad to pick from, noting that any of the 3 called up could pick up injuries while away, but hoping we can get into a more consistent run of form.

I'm getting a strong feeling Town did not want to play this fixture just yet, a couple of weeks ago we were told JK was 5-6 weeks away from being available then a week later he's on the bench at Tamworth (not sure why he wasn't brought on?). With WW going well in the FA/EFLT cups it early spring before a rearranged date is available, will be one or two raised eyebrows at Adams park should JK be suddenly pulled from the SL squad after the Crawley game......Don't bet against it.

Hard to disagree with the logic after the walloping they delivered away to a ‘decent’ Stockport side, and our pathetic showing against Tamworth. Shows how far we’ve fallen when we’re having to take a strategic stance for a fixture against Wycombe though.

Providing all those on duty come through the Crawley game unscathed the fixtures involving our players next week are;
Chad v Sierra Leone Wed 13th @7pm
Northern Ireland v Belarus Fri 15th @7-45pm
Luxembourg v Northern Ireland Mon 18th @7-45pm
Sierra Leone v Zambia Tues 19th @4pm........Last international break till March, Wycombe at home could be affected?

So Town could have chosen to play the game ? Mind you, while we're struggling for consistency and with players out injured...and maybe new recruits in January it makes sense to play these games later in the season..assuming they don't have to be squashed in before xmas..?
