So it appears that the ratcliffe/ brailsford double act may not be the messiahs at Man Utd after all..
Totally fudged the issue last summer when he should have got sacked..
Gave him a 2 year extension and £200 million to spend on more shit players..
Languishing int bottom half of table with seemingly no plan..
What a fooook up..
💩💩

Right decision but the managerial role there is like A Poisoned Chalice.

Shame. He was doing a great job! Old red nose's continual interference was a major factor. Why on earth did it take them so long to put a stop to it?

Apart from having a 250k salary, what was he supposedly up to? FA cup or no FA cup, it was obvious he was never going to succeed at utd. Absolutely stupid decision to stick by him.

No surprise. They're back to being pre-Fergie nonentities. I bet the majority of their fans don't even realise they went 26 years without a title and Fergie was on the verge of the sack after 5 years of winning nowt. Imagine how little time Fergie would have got in this day and age and then fantasise about Manure not winning fk all in those 20+ years he managed them. Go on, imagine it, it'll put a smile on your face

I can't say I am really that bothered but it does show one thing:
You can have a significant budget, be able to employ a significant amount of, allegedly, qualified people but still be unable to build a successful team (noting that success for Man U is top end Premier League and Champions League - some may disagree but their shareholders/sponsors would expect that).
In relative terms is it any easier at our level or more challenging. If I had an observation about Utd since Ferguson retired it would be a lot of decisions taken but necessarily joined up ones. Ineos have come in and I can't say it has really changes, but it is early days.
At least with Town I do think Mr Nagle has a plan and has hired a structure to deliver against the plan (stated aim to win a Championship on the pitch and build revenues of it). It will be the execution of the plan that Mr Nagle should be ultimately judged against. It is a plan that will take time to realise and I think that has been the message of the latest Nagle visit.
As for Utd I am sure they will take up many minutes in the media and column inches. Will they improve? Evidence would suggest Ineos are successful but there are no guarantees. Do I care? Not really.

As if BBC Sport didn’t already have enough Man U stories, this’ll keep ‘em going for weeks.
Six different stories at the moment

They think they have a god given right to be winning everything, talk about arrogance. There is only one team in Manchester and long may they reign.

Sporting manager coming in it seems.
Done well in Portugal but be rather different at Man U with an under performing squad.
How much more money can they spend/waste?

Their slide into obscurity continues, and it can't happen fast enough. This is how things happen. In the 1920s nobody would believe you if you'd said 'in a hundred years time Huddersfield Town will lose to Yeovil whilst being in the same league'. But even on a shorter timescale, I think Man U will have a Liverpool-like period in the wilderness. Think they might have to wait 20 years before another title.

Having to repeatedly explain that although I wasn't a Man Utd fan, I hoped they would win the league simply because of who the alternative was. Even then, some struggled to accept that I didn't hate Man Utd.

Where i am from, it's either City or Manure. The Utd fans that i know are deluded and believe they are above everyone else and should be winning everything because they are Utd. City fans are more level headed and has long as they finish about Manure they will be happy.

I suppose you should acknowledge the media interest in this story.
But they hog so many bloody stories, often meaningless for most other football supporters.
You then have the Brazilians going mad at the Ballon D’or result.
Just two things which turns me off football little by little…
It’s a good job I’ve still got the B&W rollercoaster to hand…

Jolly Hockey sticks, just shows what football has become and i dislike them immensely. Splash out another 600 million then sack the next manager because they haven't won the league.

I'd genuinely rather manage Slough Town u13s than United. They need an absolute God to be able to manage that crop of shit and no great manager would want to manage so many players who have massive egos yet don't have the footballing ability to even slightly back it up.
