Will town go 2 from 2 with a tricky away tie against Reading?
Is feeney, Castledine, Mcguane now available for selection?

I thought it was just the one game but in fairness not seen it confirmed anywhere. Strange also how nothing was confirmed either way about why McGuane was missing from the squad.

What is this feeling I’m experiencing? Not only am I looking forward to the next game, but I’m confident we’ll have too much in our locker for Reading. 1-2 win to leave us sat 2nd in the table come early evening. I’ve seen a couple of league 1 fan reviews this weekend. Some wonder if on that showing, we could possibly be the real deal, and most of them comment on our ‘embarrassment of riches’ to come off the bench, and I agree that we have some very very good fresh legs to come on to be a nightmare for tiring opponents. I know it’s really early, but after this reset, it feels different to what’s gone over the last few years. Huge credit to Kevin for doing what he said he would do. Correcting the mistakes of the early part of his tenure. UTT

Cautiously optimistic here - Town win.

Reading and everyone else in the same boat as us with new players and new ideas, so we are either the 'real deal' this year or not and only time will tell. The 'excuse' for early season wobbles etc does not stand up for me given just about everyone else has a shedload of new starters.

Aye its along old season, when we beat Orient at theirs last season they were at a real low ebb and we wwre on a good run with top six nailed on, how things panned out for us both couldnt have been more different come the end of the season.

Goals from May and Wiles.

The Harry Knibbs saga hasn't helped one bit according to manager Noel Hunt, not sure if Charlie Savage is 100% committed either just yet.......Could be a decent turnout now with the Royals under new ownership.

Last season I barely wanted to attend the home games, but bought tickets for this. This set of lads deserve our support based on the 1st game.
Hopeful of a win, but who knows! As long as we are positive and give the same effort as Saturday it should be a great game.

Genuinely looking forward to it and it's been a long time since I've said that about a Town away game, it was only the fact that I was meeting up with mates and having a few beers as to why I went to the games earlier this year but I now have a real genuine excitement that the away games are going to be good to watch 🤞 UTT

Logistical nightmare with it being a 12:30 kick off (9hr round trip) but me and the lad are keen to go. Is it a pain to get to and park etc?

Reading have just signed Kamari Doyle on loan from Brighton. I saw him quite a few times for Crawley last season and he was good. Attacking midfielder with an eye for goal, strong on his left. He’ll need watching if he’s playing on Saturday.

Appreciate you may be driving from somewhere that isn’t Huddersfield so possibly 9 hours for you but from Huddersfield I’ve regularly done Reading in 3 and half hours.

I was asked on another thread how Reading played against us on Saturday, so I’ll say a wee bit more here.
Their high line was a complete disaster. I thought they would change it after about 10 minutes, but they persisted for the whole game. Assuming they won’t change for your game, that’s where you’ll get plenty of joy - especially if Paudie O’Connor is back, because he’s incredibly slow.
Wing was the danger man. Tried to dictate play, but as long as you press him and force him to play backwards & sideways, you’ll be alright. He’s got a hell of a shot on him, so close him down when he’s on the edge of the box.
Their full backs were useless, so I can see Harness and Miller having a field day.
Their subs also made absolutely no difference. Looks like their squad depth is still quite poor. Even matey boy who they signed today is just a direct replacement for Knibbs.
Their lad up front is on loan from Brighton, O’Mahoney. He’s a diving little twat and was easily managed out of the game. Get physical with him and he crumbles.
If you go 1-0 up, you’ll get 3 or 4. We should’ve done, but weren’t clinical enough in the end.
Good luck - perfect game for JT to run in-behind!

Fans in bouyant mood after last Saturday, and expectant. Therefore it'll be a grounding 2-0 loss and crap performance and a big welcome back to all of the negative posters who've stayed quiet since the Orient game.

Interesting that reading played with and persisted with a high line at the weekend. Would it be something for grant to change on Saturday and bring Taylor into the starting lineup? If they’re going to squeeze the pitch space won’t be readily available so having someone to stretch them would be a good shout. Not sure what that would mean for Alfie may as he played well on Saturday. He does seem like a lad who would understand that situation though and the it’s horses for courses in some games.

Anyone got a host of what their forums are saying about us and this game? They are expecting a couple more through the door beforehand. One of them being Bowler.
