Been this evening yes and a very upbeat meeting. One thing that stood out above all for me was the unity of the "main" team - Hoyle and Clibbens appear to dovetail nicely and there is complete backing for the new mgmt team both immediately in Jan if needed and again in the summer. No massive specific news as such but clark appeared relaxed and extremely focussed on getting down to business. No specifics on players - all will be given a chance to impress and he is not big on systems/methods of play per se. Determined to bring in winners to the club and adopt a winning mentality from first team right down to the academy junior sides all of which he is determined to be visible for. Only time will tell whether the decision is right but the initial reaction is very positive and i have a very good vibe about this one for some reason!

just to compare, did you ever go to any Q&As with the turnip? it sounds pretty good. Hoyle and Clibbens will hopefully be good as they have worked together at Card Factory (i think?) would love it if Clark was the one to take us up and make us a good footballing side. Its a risk... but I love risks!

No, never went to see ternent cos i think he cancelled every time!! Have been to others with previous mgrs though and this team was every bit as good. Was hugely impressed by the no nonsense, realistic aspirations of all the new team - clark wants to take the club to the premier league and stated if he or the players didnt aspire to that they shouldnt be in the game! He is however realistic and knows success will involve a lot of hard work from top to bottom, and it will only be achieved over time.

i like that mentality. its abit like that at my work, we had an MD who was content at being "number 2" behind a "better" more established brand, we now have a new MD and he kinda said "well what a stupid idea that is!! lets be number 1! number 1 all the way!"
our aim should to be the best team in the world, anything below that is ok... but not good enough!

I also thought we were at our limit for wages, so i'd assume he has to let one or two go (jevons and williams please) before he can bring anyone in

Before we start writing players off can we let the new man have a look at them. He may see something we dont. Onwards and upwards!!

The same players who have shown no quality in over a season and a half. You cant seriously think we can go up with this current squad, even fergie with wenger as his assistant couldnt do it. We need some quality additions to replace the weak links and we could do it this season.

different people bring out different things from people, you may indeed eat your words if willaims and/or jevons actually turn a corner under Lee and are regulars in the first team consistently performing well

Totally agree, lets give him time to assess things, i'm sure he will know what he wants. As he says everyones got a clean slate and its up to the players to prove themselves.

Dont want to be negative, think its a top appointment by the way. Just think he has a big job on his hands

If he can get jevons playing with any desire and scoring he deserves a bloody knighthood and a pay rise !!

Just think he has a big job on his hands your right that both williams and jevons have not been good. i dont like williams at all, hes just not a good player, ive only seen him play well once that i can remember. jevons ... well hes just not made for this league. I do however think that the right manager could bring the best out of them, seen it before at other clubs where a player hasnt been playing to the best standard until a manager comes in. however, again to contradict myself, if i had to choose two players to leave the club asap, it would be those two

Not really much more to report on the evening in respect of the content!!!
It was one of those you probably had to be there to hear how things were said rather than the content!!!
Clark is very straight talking and wants to win, Faz.. is fairly quiet and Black is a very enthusiastic guy who fills you with confidence (and hopefully the players!!)
What did come through loud and clear is that they are working as a team, all the way through the club and in the same direction...pretty obvious but not happened for a long time!!
What was interesting at the end is Deano said he hopes Clark does get the Newcastle job in time, cos if he does it will mean he has been a success with us!!! A very honest and refreshing view!!!!

If he can get jevons playing with any desire and scoring he deserves a bloody knighthood and a pay rise !! That's where Black comes into it, it will be his job to get the players believing in themselves. As I remember, Dalton was written off in the same way, but a change of manager made all the difference, at least in the short term. How many times have we read on this board that the young lads aren't reaching their potential once they get to the 1st team, I think thats just a mental thing, they seem to have a lack of self belief or fear of failure. I really believe that Black is the most important one in this team, what's in the players heads is just as important as how talented they are. I wouldn't write anyone off just yet.

The meeting was fantastic, feel really positive about the future. Anyone going to own up to being the incredibly negative guy asking why Norwich were doing so poor and if we could have another Q&A if we don't make the play-offs this year?!
The main message i got was, we're all a team, all people put in place for the long term, a need to be open and honest with eachother and fans, a need for consistency throughout the club, no ego's, no segregation, just one team all firing in the same direction.
The future's bright, it's blue and white. (with a bit of black chucked in)
San Siro in 10 years Russ?! (too positive!)

We need some quality additions to replace the weak links and we could do it this season. Theres always room for improvement. We have 2 or 3 top earners who are frankly not good enough to get in the team. They need replacing. But this squad IS good enough to go up WITH THE ADDITION OF ONE, HOPEFULLY TWO, DECENT STRIKERS. We are in the top half of the division and yet the total amount of goals our strikers have scored from open play all season is 6 If GM and GM had had the exact same squad all season starting with Stockport at home, IMO we'd be in the top 3 or 4 now, even with our goalshy strikers.

lc also said he'd like the players all to live within a hours drive of training as he believes too much traveling everyday isn't good for you doesnt help with your fitness

What was the answer to the "why are Norwich doing so poorly" question? He said when he went there last season they had 8 points from 13 games and sat six points adrift of safety. What he and Glenn achieved there last season is as good achievement as winning the league. This season they have been inconsistent they have beated some top sides in Wolves and Ipswich to name two. They had two directors withdraw funds just before the start of the season and the budget was cut. He thinks with consistency Norwich are a top ten side. Think he handled himself really well last night!

I was so impressed with how everyone came across last night. I must admit i was a bit underwhelmed with the appointment but reading up on the three guys and seeing some of their comments even before last night i was starting to feel positive. Last night clinched it for me the way all three plus Hoyle and the new CEO came across impressed me.
The club is in safe hands with Hoyle and Clibbens they seem a great partnership to take the club forward both are exrtremly positive about building a 'proper football club'.
Lee Clark- came across really well ambitious hungry guy who wants to take this club to the premiership. He is a straight talking guy wears his heart on his sleeve and wants to be involved in every aspect of HTFC from the 8 year olds through to the first team. He has been preparing for a career in management since his late teens. He has wanted to be a manager for a long time but has only been applying for the 'right jobs' aand HTFC ticks those boxs. Ambitious chairman great infastructure and a good gate. He is a winner and he wants winners at the club everyone has a clean slate but when he brings people in their character as people and what they bring to the dressing room is as important as their quality as a player. He is an honest guy with integrity he knows it will be hard work knows he will make mistakes but he will suceed and they will leave a legacy at the club and when they eventually leave the club will be in a better position. It's not about fancy formations its about quality players.
Derek- bags of expereince a well respected coach and a really coup for HTFC. Knows the more expereinced players in the squad and is excited about working with the younger lads who have come through the academy. Its about the people that is what counts and getting the most out of them.
Steve Black- quite probably the most inspiring person i have ever met. Lives and breathes passion he is pleased to be at HTFC and they will take the club forward. He will work with everyone at the club from coaches, academy, reserves and first team. His job is to condition every player at the club to be in mental and physical peak condiiton for Derek and Lee to get the most out of them on the pitch. He is a winner and inspires everyone. You can not underestimte the importance of mental and physical conditioning. Sometimes players need a pat on the back and sometimes that pat needs to be a bit lower and harder!
I think the three guys are a great team a brilliant blend and get on well, good banter and bounce off eachother well. I would have no hesitation about going out to play for them and would lay down and die for them out there, that is what they will get out of the players.
The three guys plus Dean and Nigel are as one and the whole club will move forward together.
There was a great moment near the end when Dean said Lee wants promotion this seaosn but he is more relastic. Steve then threw his arms in the air and began to protest about the negativity and Dean said he was booked in with a session with Steve tomorrow. Earlier in the evening Deano tongue in cheek claimed Steve had told him he could get five more years out of Boothy.
The future is bright the future is Blue and White.
Now it's off to Sarrrrrrrrfffffffffffffffend

So glad to read that Town is going to be run as a 'proper' football club. The future's bright the future's blue & white. Roll on the Hereford game to welcome in the new staff.
