It's all because the 31st falls on a Saturday this year so it closes on Monday the 2nd Feb. It'd be like Town to be announcing summat then. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Remember that apparently players need to be moved out as well as brought in. I guess it's a bit similar to a chain when house buying. The chain could be held up for any number of reasons, meaning Town aren't able to finalise any moves............yet! I'm confident there will be one or two significant moves in and out before the end of Jan (not including fringe players like Broadbent, Eastwood et al who are already out). We just need to be patient.

haha
the 10-12 players i was referring to:
unsworth glennon lucketti skarz williams worthy flynn kamara
(and in the longer term you can add booth, jevons and parker to that list i reckon)
plus: killock, denton, eastwood, broadbent (even if shipped out = season long loan)
how much have they contributed to the recent run of form (with the exception of williams)?
the rest of them - you and i could have taken their place in the squad and it would have made zero difference!
are you naive enough to think that because we currently have very few injuries or suspensions, or loss of form - that we can sustain that over the course of the season?
do you not think we need more quality in the squad to get promoted?
are the players i mention (and on big wages) good enough to be regulars in a promotion chasing team?
i would only advocate getting rid of that many if LC was able to bring the same number of players (or even more) into the club.
obviously i wouldnt ship them out and not replace them! it would be better for us if LC has a squad of his own signings/players rather than ones he may or may not rate - surely?

I`m not worried in the slightest.Clark knows who/what he wants and to be honest for the first time in ages I`m prepared to be patient and not have us just throwing money away for the sake of it.

Ditto KSNE.
Like many others in this thread, I have much confidence in the current hierachy at the club.

...that if we don't make a signing by weekend then things are not going to plan? Could do with another striker or two if possible, but I’m not desperate for us to sign anyone Squad looks fine and Jevons got a goal last match with booth also getting back to fitness. Would be nice to make the play-offs but it's a tall order i think and not the end of the world if we don't make them

I must confess I'm getting twitchy. My minimum expectation for this season is the top six and we are currently in a great position to kick on in the second half of the season and do just that. Why would you be aiming for anything less? Everyone can see that a signing or three would help this cause no end.
I would imagine that the delay is due to nobody being willing to take our cast offs to free up space in the squad rather than a lack of targets & a desire to strengthen the squad. Cue a suprise triple Friday transfer swoop.

At the end of the day its the same for all clubs chasing players. I really dont know why we all get excited about who were going to bring in when year after year in jan, we just watch all the other clubs in our division strengthen their squads while we wait for the right man. Who is this famed right man? It could have been Izale McLeod, BUT WAIT NO, Millwall have got him! It could have been Lee Trundle BUT THE YIDS HAVE GOT HIM. It could have been old Windass who knows were the onion bag is but no her was Oldham's right man. What about Hartlepool United who have signed striker Liam Henderson from Championship side Watford. OR WHAT ABOUT League One outfit Cheltenham Town WHO have signed Reading striker Nicholas Bignall. Or even Luke Rodgers who League One side Yeovil Town have completed the signing of the former Port Vale striker. Surely one of the above could have done a job for us given our present plight.
Before i get crucified for not having the faith etc etc , i really am from what i have seen so far impressed with the management team, except on the signings front. I reckon we will all be waiting for the bargain basement left overs at the end of the window only to be told it took so long as such a player had to move on first and it all got halted with the chain. Am sorry guys but i did expect someone in for this sat match, lets hope tomorrow is the day.

![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Alot of what you say is very true, if we are to believe what Clark has said , he is aiming higher than those players you mention. only thing is im not convinced hes been realistic that ex prem or championship players will come to a mid table first div side. and we are missing all the ones you list who have all gone to our rivals.... interesting.
