all the players were out in force in town lastnight, bumped into joe skarz and he was saying he think's we'll defo go up next year and is disappointed that robbie is keeping him out of the team at the moment, then later on saw parker, pilkington, roberts and a few others in varsity with some rather tasty girls, how the other half live eh!

I remember baldry and bullock would always be in hotshots during our promotion season, and baldry always used to wear leather pants!!!
I also met Craig Armstrong in a club in nottingham once, he bought me a drink but took offense to my mate who told him he was not impressed when he first came to us.

lol u think thats bad, once i told mcaliskey that i didnt think his form had been the best recently, and him and his mate pushed me against a urinal and started on me!
never liked that guy though and his cocky attitude anyway, the way he used to think he was it around town, he even tried it on with my sister once "i'm a professional footballer ya know..." even though he hardly even made the bench at the time. him and his brother once went upto my mates once as well, and his brother said, "ere, my brother earns more than, you, you, you and you put together...." even though he didnt actually know them

Dont see it as a problem to be honest, they are still young lads who never get/got the opportunity to go and live the uni 'lifestyle' and considering they get a rest day on thursday it wont have much of an effect on their performance even if they do have a little bit too much once in a while.

the thing with macca was completly different to the time we saw kamara in town though, we saw him and were like oh malvin! and he just had a nervous laugh and kept saying look man i know i Sh*t please dont take p*ss, i know im s*hit man...kept saying that and then happily posed for a pic with us, but thought we were just taking mick cos in his words he was s*it lol

Well students can go out anytime they want with their mates, being professional footballers will have stopped them going out with their mates as much as they might have liked. So going out once in a while when they have a 'rest day' the day after shouldnt be a problem.

i just cant stand him really, he's just so up himself think's he's brilliant when chatting up girls etc oh im a footballer, when he's really nothing special. and then i see other players like skarz and collin's that will happily have a chat with you and are modest, or extremely modest when it comes to kamara, "please, i know im s*hit dont take the mick outta" me. all we wanted was a pic of him, and he has such a low opinion of himself that he thought we were just taking the p*ss outta him!

Bit of a sad story the Kamara one. Self confidence is a must for any professional sportsman and he clearly has none. He seems to be a likeable fella and reading about that, followed by the complete opposite that was Macca in the same thread certainly emphasises just how important having the right attitude has to do with making it as a player. The ideal probably being somewhere between the two examples.
I can't / couldn't stand Macca either. He was everything that the fans hate about players. His younger brother with the crutches was a pecker too. I once went up to him in Visage, got right in his face so he thought I was going to nut him or something and said........"do you know who I am" and then staggered off laughing with a few mates. Was quite funny at the time but you probably had to be there, I think it took him a bit by surprise.

yeah, although my mate has just actually mentioned, the time we saw him was a day after he played and got subbed at half time for being so bad lol but yeah was really a likable guy though, and happily posed for a pic when he realised we were being serious and not just taking mick lol
i think it was well known with macca as well that peter jackson regularly fell out with him due to his lifestyle, and had a problem with his attitude not being right, like being out til early morning everynight.
fair enough he wasnt the most talented player, but i think it was his attitude that prevented him getting anywhere in the club, it's annoying really, as if i had a chance like macca to get somewhere in football it would be like a dream and i certaintly wouldnt throw it away.
i still see him out in town now, and know a few people that know him and things and he hasnt even had a job since leaving town, he's abit of a bum now, the funny thing is as well my mate plays saturday afternoon football and he macca plays for some pub in golcar and struggles to even make the bench!! haha

I see John the 1st class tit mcaliskey in town all the time with his brother. They still think they are the schizzle. Cant stand them.
Like a previous post says, it was good to see the current players out having a laugh as it shows they get along and there is a good team spirit.

Working class? So richer youngsters dont go out and get drunk as well? What was the point in being so picky anyway?
