I hate to tell you mate, but they want you to be a cardboard cutout behind that goal. If they see you having fun, they'll shoot you down bwoy! I sat in FM lower on sat. Nowhere near as bad as the Antich towards Pink Link where i sit now. The stewarding we get there is a joke. Police line the stairs, film us from the bottom, and with a camera that pans on us attached from the roof. Cant wait to get away from there. The stewarding in FM lower was much more lenient, yes we were told to sit down a few times, but unfortunately thats the law, it happens everywhere else in the stadium. Its the police that i hate, aggressive, OTT, heavy handed, power mad bullies. And they occupy the area seperating home and away fans.

To be honest, we were sat in there on Saturday against Southend and I can safely say, I never want to sit in there again. We were picked out by the stewards and told to sit down every single time we stood up, even just for a sing song. We were not obscuring anybody's view (we were sat at the back) so why would we have to sit down? I for one, would rather splash out a little bit more and enjoy my season, not be policed by fools that have failed thus far, so became stewards. i am now a season ticket holder in the fm lower!!!!!block 6 row l seat 120 i think,,,,4 rows down from the back....if i get anystick in there for bieng boistrous I WILL WALK OUT NEVER TO RETURN!!! :'(TTID You sir are within pie throwing distance ;D Poz and I are on Row N

The policing and stewarding are killing the fun at football.

Which area of the lower are the noisy people aiming to congregate in? Police box side, middle or other side?
I'm *thinking* of relocating to the Upper tier at that end, and if possible would like to be directly above any atmosphere creating folk in order to be able to lob pies down on them enhance my overall family tastic match day experience by feeling like I'm at least near where a football match is happening!
No real reason for moving, decided before the pricing came out and before the club named it the Fantastic Family stand, my son fancied a move as a few of his schoolmates are in there...and I decided that after all these years I want to be at the end that sees most Town goals and fancied a bit of a change myself, not really having enjoyed the atmosphere where I am for quite a bit...too much distracting infighting going on at the south end of the Kilner when I purely want to watch a football match and be reasonably entertained by players putting a bit of effort in and accepting they will make lots of mistakes which is why they're playing for us rather than Man U.
That its £72 cheaper is a decent sweetner!

That may be the case, and I agree with you 100% I'd love to have a terrace at Huddersfield (and at every other ground in the world TBH) but unfortunalty just becuase its called a "stand" doesn't mean that whats your supposed to do.
Have to say I agree with BEAST. While the stewards were getting us to sit down, it certainly wasn't any different to where I normally sit in the Antich, or at any other ground i've been to this season. Its the law that you sit at Football, and as much as I hate being told to sit down, its the Stewards job to get us to do so. At least we had a bit of a laugh with the ones in the FM Lower once they knew we wasn't out to cause any trouble.
Once we've been in there a few weeks I reckon it will calm down. It was probably so over the top on Saturday as they've never seen any of us in there before so it was a bit of a shock. As long as we dont do anything wrong they have no reason to eject us or get onto us all the time.

I seem to recall we used to call the popular standing side of the pitch at Leeds Road 'the terrace', wheras the only bit of the ground that had seats (as far as I can remember anyway!) was 'the main stand' ?!

'Stand' is short for Grandstand which according to Wikipedia says "A grandstand is a large and normally permanent structure for seating spectators, most often at a racetrack."

wouldn't be so bad if they were actually fair..........so many times this season town fans have been told to basically sit down and shut up otherwise they'll be thrown out for making noise, whereas the away fans get to stand alllllllllllll game long, without anyone asking them to sit down

"ONES KILLING FOOTBALL, YOUR THE ONES KILLING FOOTBALL" We were singing that to the police in the FM lower last Saturday.

if they're fair, then fair enough, i don't think anyone would complain anything like as much, but the fact its basically 1 rule for home fans and another rule for away fans really isn't acceptable

Yea the FM Lower, been just for families is a ridiculous idea, it will never be full if just families go in it, and it would be far better for more "boystrous" fans to sit in there
