Like everybody else, yesterday I was looking for a strong performance and thumping win to wipe the cobwebs away after three straight league defeats. What did we get? A lack luster affair, played out by two very average looking teams. As you all know I don't often criticise our team on here but in my view yesterdays performance was well below stand. Below standard that is. If we still want to achieve something this season but if we're happy to see this as a 'building' season then fair enough. But Jeeeeezzus that was crap! I have to admit, the guys I traveled back to Leeds with saw the game differently and while they agreed with me on some details they all seemed 'content with 3pts'. I definitely wasn't! WHY? Because I think League One is a very poor this year and I see no reason why we can't go on 'a run' and make the play-offs BUT not with performances like that. Okay we grabbed the 3pts but I wanted to see a solid 'performance' that gave an indication of our intentions in the coming months. I know the conditions were poor but so what, I've seen much worse. This morning I still feel disappointed that in what could and should have been a pivotal game in re-orientating our season was in fact a freezing cold, frustrating bore. I hope to God we can sort something in the next two games otherwise as soon as we meet a team that can put tow passes together we'll get hammered again. AceT.

Thought we did the job yesterday with some encouraging signs, Jevons, Williams both looked good with more to come. Wallwork also OK, I think we are going in the right direction, the big test will be transfer window, will we just be looking through as normal nowadays, how about starting with a centre half? Luketti maybe? Agreed game was not great but rememer points mean prizes!!!!!

Agreed yesterday's game was not the best although in freezing conditions it would not have been fun out their. The pluses was Williams looking decent, Wally played well (wonder if the court case had been on his mind?), Jevo is class and Collins looking better.
As the saying goes, 'you can only beat whats in front of you'.
I think the FA Cup game is pivotal as many floating supporters will be at that game (makes a nice Christmas present at £15) and regardless of the result if Town play very well than some of the floaters maybe tempted to return again.
IMO January needs Jevo and Wally signing perm and if Uncle Ken got some money from Santa for Christmas then a new centre half.
I know AR gets slated at times but my friends and I in the Panasonic think he is putting together a half decent side and all along we have thought that this is a rebuilding season and promotion in our centenary season.
Look at who AR has brought in
Cadders, Robbie, Malvin and poss Wally and Jevo perm in Jan. A good centre half and a left winger and we will be a really good team.

I thought we wre poor yesterday too. I was looking for a performance so to speak but the win was the main thing, no point playing great and ending up with a draw. However i would like to make a few points and see what people think. Firstly i was saddened to see booths lack of pace cost us a certain goal. He was clear favourite to the ball for a one on one with their keeper, and i just asked myself is he worth his place when chances like that go begging. Before anybody slaughters me for critising our legend, i like boothy i really do, but if hes going to play then the rest of the team have got to be fired up and first to the loose ball and start winning the second ball , to cash in on his flicks and aerial ability. This was not the case yesterday, and many other games so far this season. We always look better when we play it on the deck into feet, as scraspping for it doesnt seem to suit us as for a start were not a big physical side. As commentators clearly pointed out at the leeds game leeds are a and were too powerful and physical for us to match them, especially their forwards. So for me if were not going to get the ball down and play a system which could have jevons and say cadders up front, then yes scrap for the second ball with boothy, but lets have some big lads who can do that and not the half hearted attempts that come in from the weak defensive qualities of our wide men. In this respect it was great to see woprthy come on and give the team a lift. So for me whover we get if at all we do in the jan transfer window , i want to see a physique that has presence and power and not another 5 foot nothing 3 stone wet thru player that the academy seems to have the dna blueprint for.

Boothy gets written off nearly every week but you have only to look at the record of the team when he plays and when he does not. I think if he had not been in the team lately then we would be in big trouble. He still has a part to play and although you would not back him against a greyhound there are more than him in the side with a lack of pace. His ability now is to hold the ball up, win the headers and his distribution. I would not write him off yet although it appears alot of people want to. When the time comes I hope we get a replcement of the old fashioned centre forward type. Booth and Jevons could be a real partnership once they get on the same wavelength.
