As promised, two questions were submitted to the TownTalk section of today's Development Association meeting. Here they are with my notes on the responses:
1. Could you please comment on the lack of provision of healthy snack alternatives / non carbonated drinks in the concessionary stalls - an item which many parents in particular might think that KSDL fails very badly in.
KSDL replied that they had tried to provide healthy alternatives, including fruit, but the take-up was poor. Vimto was available as a non-carbonated drink, as was still water. It was also noted that the pies are low salt. Future plans include jacket potatoes.
2. Is there any more news on plans for a Supporters Bar?
The basic answer was that there weren't any plans in the short term but this would be referred back to Ralph Rimmer for final confirmation that any plans to utilise the coffee-bar area of the Fitness Centre (under the Panasonic stand) had now been dropped.

In other words...
A) Pies are cheap to make and profitable to the extreme, so we're keeping them. You will still also have to queue for the duration of the match to get one of your peasant hands on one. But we'll have Jacket Potatoes, covered in health concious Lard.
B) You're not gonna get a supporters' bar.

Well they obviously didn't try very hard and Vimto is *not* available in the Antich (I don't think I've ever noticed luke warm bottles of water being available either).
Plus I take it they realise that a 250ml carton of Vimto contains the equivalent sugar to a pack of Fruit Gums?
Very poor response from KSDL.

If I may add, I've tried to buy water and have been told there's none left on many occasions.
Sorry to be so petty, but there you are.

Healthy, value for money, quality food is about as rare on those snack bars as a valid work visa.

OH FFS Why are you still banging on about this? It's not going to happen. Let the issue drop. If it ever did happen all it would do is line the pockets of KSDL. Objectives of HTST 1) A representative on the board 2) A suppoters bar in ths stadium complex to boost KSDL profits Are these objectives going to be enshrined in the Mission Statement of the newly merged ST/SC group? How about pushing for answers to just what exacty the ambitious plans are that KD spouted off about when the takeover speculation was at it's height? Is it any wonder that the current supporters groups are seen as out of touch with the wider fan base when all they do is spout off about totally irrelevant issues all the time?

How about pushing for answers to just what exacty the ambitious plans are that KD spouted off about when the takeover speculation was at it's height? The chances of getting any sort of genuine worthwhile answer from Davy on his 'ambitious plans' is less likely than pigs flying........and trust me, they'll never fly! I'd say it was just his way of trying to keep the fans happy........but its what, 2 months now(give or take)since that statement? Still no indication as to what the ambitions plans are. Though to be honest, the fact that in the statement he said 'We have ambitious plans for it' said it all for me, in that he didnt even say Huddersfield Town, the club, the team,or anything, he just referred to them as 'it' which in my eyes means he has ambitious plans for everyone and everything except our club and the team, as surely if he meant he had ambitious plans for the club,he'd at least say that, or something similar, rather than just 'it'. Or am i just being cynical?

And I might have added that the 'ambitious plans' question was answered at the Patrons meeting when Andrew Watson said it meant that we aim to be a Top 30 Club. That's what he said - don't shoot me, I'm only the messenger

Stan, they might not have been your questions but they WERE raised on this board. And we already knew the answer to that. It's not going to happen. I would have thought any self respecting supporters organisation would want a supporters bar that would benefit supporters, the club and/or the organisation. Supporting any scheme that soley benefits KSDL is not on as far as i'm concerned.

Why keep banging on about the food and drink on offer. Nothing will ever change on that front.
Every ground in the country sells overpriced shit!
Everything on sale apart from the beer can be taken in anyway. Rather have a cold cornish pasty from supermarket that queue up for 10 minutes and be ripped off, how much are pies now anyway?

Indeed, we take our nosh in with us anyway. But things CAN change. For example most other clubs I've visited recently sell lager in plastic bottles now which not only guarantees you a more consistent product but they can churn through the queues a lot quicker. The whole set up needs revisiting. Most clubs in this division have on the face of it poorer facilities than we have, and yet we're the only club I know where if you buy a bar of chocolate you have to fish it out of a pool of beer/coffee that the assistant has put it into for you. But on the whole, I'm not really that bothered, I don't spend money in the ground because of a lack of good value good quality product and a generally poor customer experience.

Surely there could be some sort of pre-paid system where you would get a voucher to hand over at half time. Even better if it's a straight swap for a bottle.
I find it amazing they're not doing this as they're missing out on thousands each week. There's plenty of people I know would have a pint at half time but don't want to miss the football to queue to get one.

Are you seriously complaining about the fact that the stadium is providing unhealthy food, then in your very next question moaning about there not being a place to get beer? Or are you going to make them ensure that the beer is free of sugar, alcohol and e-numbers!

Yes, why, whats one got to do with the other?
Just because I've screwed my body over and continue doing so doesn't mean I shouldn't want to ensure my children are able to have the options available in front of them in order to take more sensible decisions than I had made for me when I was a kid.
Its not "healthy" snacks that are the real bugbear, its the complete lack of choice, ESPECIALLY for young kids.
This club prides itself on its efforts at supposedly attracting children to the ground, but things such as poor choice of food, unavailability of properly fitting replica shirts for ages 3-7 year olds, poorly maintained toilet facilities and lack of proper pre-match & half-time entertainment all go against that (laudable) goal.
PS - I've never EVER bought beer at the Galpharm.

I just wish the outlets could master the simple art of getting enough stock in
I once went to get some food, three things; bottle of pop, pie and a hot drink.
They'd sold out of all three.
And this was BEFORE kick off!
