Would be a big gamble for them to take after his injury. Having said that i would want at least 2.5 mill for Pilks would be gutted if he was to leave far too good for this level though.

When they say that he's valued at £2m by Huddersfield, what they really mean is "We've not heard anything from a reputable source about his value, we just plucked a figure out of nowhere." Don't see any reason to believe that.

Didnt they sign Bennett for around the same price?...I think anything between £2-£2.5million would see him go he's a great player and the lure of Premiership football would be too much!!

It would be a shame to see him go but I also think it's a big risk on Norwich's part. I would want all cash up front on this deal, nothing appearance based. I hope he makes a full recovery whether he stays at Town or not but I would not want a fee based on appearances, just in case. If Norwich really want him let them take all the risk.

Not that the Express is much good, but the Mirror has probably nicked it off the former. Be very surprised if they have made a bid like that.

I see Norwich got quoted £8 million by leeds for Snodgrass....not suprised if they have decided to look elsewhere for cheaper...to be fair pilks on his day is just as good Snodgrass!!

Not that I want him to go but if he had to i'd rather it was someone like Norwich as opposed Stoke or Wolves

We'd be mental to turn that down given that we've no idea how he'll be after snapping his leg in half

How could they have made a bid last week when LC said he had recieved no contact from any clubs for any players. This seems like fantasy to me.

Pilks is young, extremely talented & under contract. We don't need to sell, so I'm sure, if it's true, that this would just be an initial bid. Hopefully Deano wouldn't let him go for anything less than £3-4 million! He's worth that, surely?!!

What about the player? What does he want? No point in keeping an unhappy player and especially one that has had such a serious injury.

Fantasy or not it's interesting times to see if owt develops. £2mill up front in full is fine from me after such a bad injury.
Before the injury AP could have easily slotted into a Prem league team. Let's see if it's speculation or not!

He probably means that if Town denied a 3rd Division player the opportunity to play in the Premier League it's unlikely said player would be the happiest of bunnies. Any player would jump at that opportunity. He's quality is Pilks, and there's only him and Peter Clarke I'd be disappointed if they went. The rest are replaceable.

Well either way we don't know if anyone has made a bid or not, nor how he'd feel if we turned down a bid from someone like Norwich. He'd be much better staying here for his long term development, as he'd barely get onto the subs bench at any Premiership team and then get farmed out to someone like Burnley.

All this talk of him leaving beause they are a prem team. Realistically we could be in the same league as them next year, and it won't be till then that hes fully back to him self anyway!
I personally think he should have another season with use, repay the loyalty shown in him bythe club and the fans and get fully fit again and then see how things look next summer
But that's just my ideallistic view as a football fan and I dont know how realistic it is

if this is true, we will no doubt want nearer 2 million and if it was any of us at his age we would jump at the chance of playing in the premier against all the worlds top players.
it will be a shame but good luck to him.......

He'd be lured by a top end championship club. Does anyone else find this a bit bizarre given the horrific injury he suffered ? I wouldn't be putting any kind of bid in until I'd seen that the player was match fit and made a full recovery. We hope he comes back the same player, and the signs seem good, but there is a long way to go. Seems a bit premature for the player to come back from a major injury and expect to partiapte at Premier League level.

Why would Lambert gamble the little cash he has on someone who has recently suffered a potentially career ending injury and hasn't yet kicked a ball in anger? garbage.

More to the point, would Pilks be guaranteed a game at Norwich? Hoolahan, Crofts and now Bennett may all be ahead of him in the pecking order. I've heard it said that Norwich are thinking of the future, buying in these recognised players with a view to getting relegated from the premiership but being good enough to challenge to get back out of the Championship. Not exactly a great sense of ambition if you ask me. As has been said, realistically, we could both be in the same division after next season. Paper talk for me. All this was expected, every one of our assets has now been linked in the tabloid press and none of them have had any substance for me.

Hope its not true. Pilks is the one player I feel is irreplaceable. I honestly think with him in the side at the end of last season we would have gone up.

What loyalty would that be then ? The rehab, The quality of the medical care, Him staying with the squad and travelling to every game, which will come at a cost, Are you suggesting that the club haven't shown loyalty?
