www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_6998656,00.html Same thing on the skysports website, basically quoting the Examiner. Just because Clark has said there hasn't been any contact though it doesn't necessarily mean there hasn't. He could be saying that along with "their offer doesn't match our valuation" in order to bump up the price and invite higher offers, or he could just be saying it to try and keep the player settled and not get his hopes up if he might jump at the chance of a move. What on that leg. ;D

It's on the back page, I had a look before I left work. Ok, ty. But I don't live in Huddersfield.A lot of Town fans don't.We live all over, and some abroad too, as with all big clubs and some smaller ones too. I can get a physical Examiner, but have to travel into the centre of the Town I live in to get one.So I have to look on the Examiner Website. It automatically opens on the Town News page there from the link I have for it, but when I first said it, it hadn't been uploaded onto it yet. It was a few minutes later they uploaded that article and put it in the online Town News section.

So you're saying Clark may be lying.Give him and the rest of us a break. It's true that there hasn't been contact and a very good sign that they won't sell unless it's for a much higher figure. That is because they have to:- a)Build the club and it's buying power further for the future and to improve our squad more and more over the years. and b) To send out a clear signal to the country that we are not a selling club anymore, unless it's for a very high amount. Which we can use to buy at least the same quality in again, which is not easy to always find. So needs large sums. Or to bring even further quality in. I applaud Clark and Dean for sticking to their guns and refusing to sell unless for a high amount. And for sending that signal out to all the clubs after anyone with ability in our squad.

So managers never lie when ongoing transfer negotiations are taking place? "Modric isn't available at any price" - but I think most people expect him to be a Chelsea player before the first ball is kicked at Stamford Bridge this season. Barca had no interest in Fabregas and would definitely not make an offer, but they did. Now I'm not saying he is lying and that we definitely have had an offer from Norwich, I'm just saying you 100% cannot take his word as gospel, it would be very naive to do so.

I think there's a difference though between the example you've used Cas. If Clarke had come out and just flatly said "the price is below our evaluation" then the chances are there probably has been contact but the club want more money. To come out and bluntly say there has been no contact whatsoever is a different thing entirely. On this one if Clarke says there's been contact , then that's good enough for me :nodding:

On this one if Clarke says there's been contact , then that's good enough for me I couldn't think of any like for like examples, I know the ones I used weren't exactly the same thing! I just think it's strange that as well as saying there had been no contact, he also mentioned it would take a larger sum of money to buy him, like possibly we're holding out for more. Anyways, like I said I'm not saying that there has been contact, just that we can't take Clark's comments as gospel because we all know what managers say isn't always the truth!

I remember a while a go there was a patrons meeting or a Q&A session where Deano was asked about selling Pilks and straight away he said if someone offered him 2 million for Pilks Deano's reply was "Is that for his left foot or right foot" In Deano I trust (and Clark)

I don't think there is anything in it, we have absolutely nothing down here, that hasnt been rehashed a few times, many of us wonder if his agent is stirring the pot, trying to get him a good deal elsewhere or Town to offer a new deal.
It originally started in the hyper reliable Daily Star, which is of course known for absolute truth

All this paper talk is just rubbish. Reporters know nowt. They just get tipped off by agents whose job it is to raise the profile and value of their clients, and then make up any story they want about them moving.

All this talk of Pilks to Norwich. Lets get it right. IF Norwich wanted him for say £2.5m they'd get him. Pilks is a bloody good footballer for HTFC, not a fan. If, after being so close to possibly losing his career/leg, he got the chance to jump up 2 divisions within 6 months of that injury, he would be nuts not to go. We would all be gutted to see him leave but it would be best for him, a footballer from Blackburn, not a Huddersfield Town fan like us. I'd love him to stay but if we get an offer like that and he wants to go, bloody good luck to him.

yeah it is nice to see that he has recovered so well from that injury...be sad to see him go though, he is (if he returns to how he was playing for us) capable of premier league football

I'm not sure anyone will meet our valuation of him now he's had this injury. He needs another season behind him to prove he's over it. If we fail this next season then he'll be off - wouldn't blame him either
