What do you locals, who see Town every week, think about our TRUE prospects a week Monday?
It is not often that Town has gone to the Valley and avoided defeat twice or more in succession.
Wright-Phillips is scoring for fun even more than Jordan. The Addicks home record actually is better than Town's from a goal scoring point of view 21-7 from 8 games against Town's 19-9 from 9 games. Alan Lee, while he does not often score goals, takes a lot of stick personally which frees up Rhodes or Novak to play their game. He will be missed on the 28th. I don't know what sort of goals the Addicks have conceded, daft or unavoidable etc., but I do know that Town has given up some daft goals, and some very late on, witness yesterday.
I also remember 27th December 1957 when Town led 5-1 with only 20 minutes left and still managed to lose 6-7.
I admit to being worried. I think that Town could come unstuck. If the record run does end Town could well drop out of the top two.
Am I just being a nervous nelly or have I reason for my concern?

We have nothing to fear.
We can go there and win.
If we are 5-1 up with 20 to go I fancy us to cling on this time.

Lets just go there and attack none of this unbeaten run malarky, if it pays off then its a great bonus and if we lose then we will lick our wounds and try again next time. Another draw is neither here nor there.

Wright Phillips is no Johnny Summers though and if we drop out of the top two it's still only November, stop worrying it's a long season. :udders:

The run doesn't matter, it is the toughest game of the season but we are strong enough to go attack the. see how it goes then just learn from it and move on. Promotion or long term form wont depend on this game. I reckon they will be shocked by how strong we are but we can't afford any cock ups! Give Jordan some chances and we'll be fine.

People were having doubts before Sheff utd away, and Brentford away. I fully expect us to get at least a point. Anyone who saw their anodyne encounter with Sheff Weds on Sky earlier in the season will know that Charlton are there for the taking

Charlton havn't played a good side yet!! that is until we turn on on the 28th. We play better against good sides and were playing better away from home, so i'll be having a tenner on us winning 4-0.

Nervous about the game, got the feeling whichever team wins next Monday will really kick on. Let's hope it's us, really looking foward to the game.

Charlton were shite when we played them but we were too and it ended up 1-1, we started quiet slow but we seem to be improving week by week.
Just thought i'd let you all know.

After reading all these replies I feel a little better. Maybe Town will get at least a point from the game. I'd be ecstatic if the blue and whites came back with all three.

Tough game for both sides I reckon David. I fancy us to create chances hopefully we can take one or two of them, one thing's for sure if we are as wasteful as we were against Walsall then we'll need to keep a clean sheet to avoid defeat.
However, if we can keep it tight or in fact take a first half lead I think the large home crowd could work against Charlton. If we're not behind at half time I think we could win.

I'd happily take a draw.Imagine the confidence the Charlton team would get from ending our run , they could be out of sight be Christmas.

Berty's Bird and I are going down, fully expecting a win. Or a draw if Charlton get lucky.

We have no reason to fear anyone in this division. Clearly Charlton are a very good side, but so are we and so it will be a good test for both teams. I just have a feeling that our unbeaten run will be ended by a team that won't have been expected to win. I would take a point at Charlton, but we are going down for all three. Should be a good game.
By the way they are appealing Alan Lee's sending off and so he may not be missing.

I reckon theres a decent chance of us winning but I'd definately take a draw if it was offered right now, just to be safe.

This game could really go either way.
I was feeling that we would lose ahead of sheff u and brentford away but we smashed them so part of me thinks that we will go to charlton and win.
The other part of me thinks that kay is going to be torn apart by wright-Phillips and we will lose by 2 or 3.

fear not mr gowling.a defeat would free our play up and send us on another, less publicised run.we ve got great spirit around the club these days.i m thinking we ll take a lead only to be pegged back late on.fitzys prediction(i never learn ;D) 1-1 arfield.

Wright-Phillips has 14 goals from 17 games, Rhodes has 13 from 11, one of those ratio's is far superior to the other, so I wouldn't take Wright-Phillips over Rhodes any day of the week. He was kept quiet last year by Clarke and McCombe but they were in much better form at the time than our defenders are currently, hopefully we can turn that around a week today.
I'm predicting a draw, but if they hammered us or we hammered them it really wouldn't surprise me. My only real fear is that if we concede first we'll completely buckle.

Now we've broken the record i think we'll play with freedom anyway. But i'm going to continue to back against town at the bookies because they always let me down in my accies which for once i'm happy for them to do

It is one of the few games I wouldn't mind a draw. I am a little worried but if we play like we did against Sheff Utd, we may have a chance.

I think it will be 43 and out unfortunately. They are on fire and like Brighton and Southampton last season, they just seen to keep on winning. Right now I'd take a draw, especially with Alan Lee out.

If we don't lose this one and then Wendies away a few weeks later no reason to go all season unbeaten!
Don't think we'll play for a draw at all but a point wouldn't be bad. I know its earlyish in the season still but if we lose, 8 points would be a great advantage for Charlton
