It IS a big game for us. We're sitting second and third at the moment and separated by only 2 points so, assuming things are similarly poised next month, it's either you opening up a decent gap on the chasing pack, or us leapfrogging you into the auto spots. Plus you'll be bringing a good following which makes a change in this league from the usual. I'm looking forward to it nearly as much as when our beloved neighbours come calling Does that mean we are MASSIVE

Steady on, it takes years and years of practice to achieve our level of MASSIVENESS. You'll have to settle for HUGE at the moment

and he gets to play against the wendies As a lifelong Barnsley fan who pays to sit in the Ponte End when he doesn't have a game, he will be WELL UP for playing the Pigs and netting a brace

The Beast lol, not the same player from a few years ago, was on loan at Donny but struggled big time, be interesting to see him at L1 level.

Find it funny a Wednesday fan talking down us signing Parkin whilst thinking they've a great squad because they've got a strike force of Ryan Lowe and Chris O'Grady. Who have played most of their football at league 1 and 2 level.
Not saying Parkin will rip the league up but he ought to be a good foil for Jordan and about as good a loan signing as we could have got at short notice.

I really hope Parkin has a good start but lets be honest he has hardly been tearing it up recently has he. Loan at Doncaster - no goals, not even full appearances and suddenly he is the man who will single handedly drive town onwards and upwards. God help us (and him) if we struggle on Monday against Charlton and he doesn't provide at least 4 goals and 32 assists. That is the minimum we should expect given the over hyped euphoria that seems to have grabbed hold of some posters since he signed. (Remember the expectations when Donal joined).

sorry but fact of the matter is Alan Lee is now out for 3 games and we've brought in a very capable target man / foil for JR. I'm not expecting Messi, but he should do a job for us. Otherwise if JR or LN get injured we are screwed.

Who were you expecting to come on loan at short notice to a League 1 side Macca ? Carlos Tevez ?
Anyone who is currently playing in the 1st team anywhere won't be allowed out on loan so you are looking at an experienced player who is out of favour or a young kid being let out on loan to get some experience. I'm more than happy with Parkin. I stand to be corrected but I am reasonably confident he will offer more than Alan Lee.

Your highlighted comment is spot on. He hasn't played a league game since October 22nd (I think) and given the fact he is a f**king unit you wonder what his match fitness will be like. He has a decent record at our level and above but it may take him a game or 2 to get up to full match sharpness. I hope not, I hope he knocks the shit out of Charltons defence (legally of course) and sets us on the way to a good result. Just surprises me the euphoria from some people regarding a player who cant get a game at his own club, scored no goals in his last loan spell at Donny. Time will tell.

In my opinion start with Novak and Rhodes, then bring Parkin on in the second half because if it's true he hasn't played for a while there's no point in gambling, Novak and Rhodes are a fantastic partnership.

Happy with Parkin coming here, but it struck me today - what about Cadamateri? When did he last play? I know he's injury prone, but I also think that he can come on and have an impact at this level. Some him at the open day just before the team went on the coach - not his normally happy self - s'pose travelling to exeter (or was it Yeovil?) on a coach and knowing its for nothing would kind of get to you?
