Deano's statement says it all - he wants promotion this season. I wouldn't mind betting that he thinks we can still get automatic. He might be right.
Funny, I had a sneaking feeling after the result yesterday .....

I've been informed Clark has not been sacked due to results but for something else.... breach of contract supposedly... Dipping into Gemma's box?! Interesting, it states in the Guardian that Lee is thinking of taking a potential unfair dismissal case to the LMA.

Our current form is 17 points from 12 games. Until last night we had a realistic chance of automatic although most were already resigned to the play-offs. Clark's play-off record is played 5 won 0. You have a game in hand of Wednesday which would put you third. Wed. and Utd. play each other next week. They can't both win. Auto's easy achievable. Be positive. As for us, we're stuck with PlayOffs, if that. United have a game in hand, that would put them seven points in front of us. Getting seven points on a team averaging two per game in 16 games is a tall order. You'd be hard pressed to find any Town fan that thought Lee Clark could do it.

Thanks for all the hard work Lee and good luck in your future employment. You will never work for a better club or chairman again though. : :

Everything points to that yeah, there are plenty of good quality managers out of work and Deano can't but have noticed. Someone in by the weekend me thinks....
Must be proven, anything else is a bonus! Come on Deano, show us what you are made of (and how deep your pockets are)!

I've never been convinced by him and posted the same three years ago. I've never thought he could get us promoted.

He has changed the club from the bottom up, but now all his staff have gone...... I really liked him for the first 2 seasons...... should have gone after the play off joke tbh

Grayson's probably the best man for the job, but he's got too many skeletons in his cupboard.
Leeds supporter Leeds player Leeds manager
He would get slaughtered on these boards.......... I'm sure Leeda would be suitably smitten though, eh Leeda?

As long as its not Warnock. Lets get someone in who can get the lads playing football, but with some organisation and a plan. Warnock is yesterdays man, and there are some on here who seem to think he is the Messiah, i.e. guaranteed promotion. Whatever happens now, its still got to be part of a plan for the longer term future of the club, and Warnock would be going backwards. He won the Championship last season you clown. He might well have done, and if you've enjoyed the recent hoofball from LC, you'll love Warnock. I think you need to play football rather than hoofball to get out of this division, and I don't think he's the man for that. Coco.

So the news broke literally just as I sat down in my chair at work, so been itching to get home and give my opinion.
I'm fairly annoyed at the fact that all anyone outside the club is quoting is the "3 defeats in 53" (or whatever it is). The fact is that neither me nor anyone on here gives a crap about that because we are still in League 1. Brighton, Southampton and Peterborough aren't dying for our unbeaten record are they? The fact that after the playoff final most of us regarded the run as over says it all. The fact that is it still being talking about it frankly stupid. We all know why Clark has gone but the reaction from the outside is annoying. I fear that football now has "young and talented" manager syndrome because Clark will no doubt get a new job in either the Championship or Lower end of the Prem, on the basis of what? Spending tons of cash with no end product? Who else would get a better job on that run? Does Clark have a secret marketing manager or something we don't know about because this hype is insane.
However, I do not hold anything against Lee Clark. I'm certain he gave his all and if he were to return to the ground with another club I would clap him.

You've lost 3 games in 30 and are sitting 4th in the league, what a ridiculous decision to make at this time of the season plus what a horrible way to sack someone after he has put his heart in to your job. Shame as he's a decent man and deserved better thanks Mrs Clark, get the tea on will you for your husband! Nothing to do with Lee Clark lol , just a footy fan who is shocked at the way he's been treated. Was routing for you to go up this year and pleased that you held on to young Jordan but that seems an odd decision to me.

I think Deano, ironically, might just have saved Clark's managerial career.
Now, Clark can point to all his "achievements" and the fact we were lying 4th when he went, with the chance of promotion still alive.
Had he stayed, and most likely got the sack after another play-off failure, then his star could have been permanently tarnished.
He should have gone after the play-off final.

This should have been done about 1 month ago, but praise to Deano for making a bold move. We were going nowhere under Clark,we are playing worse football than this time last year and slipping down the league. Look at Charlton, we should be up there with them, spent similar money so there no excuse. Instead we are al most on par with Stevenage (if they win games in hand) who have spent next to nothing. By the way they have also recently lost there manager and its not affected them at all. Perfect time to be appointing a manager as there is a wealth of experienced good managers who know how to win games, get the best out of players and win promotion. Davies, Warnock, McCarthy, Grayson. Onwards and upwards. : :

I think Clark had his chance last season he came very close but i think he missed the boat, now we have gone a bit stale with him in charge.
Its like he has run out of ideas to improve us a fresh approach from someone new might just be the impetus that we need to get over the line.
Thank you lee you have left the club in a better state than you found it but something new is now needed.
Well done Dean Hoyle brave decision!

At the time I thought it might have been time to part company, but I also admired and respected Dean's loyalty to him after such an embarrassing and painful defeat. Sadly, and with hindsight, it seems that it wasn't the right move. But it was the right move today. For both parties, as I said above.
