Who's going to finish top and bottom of each Division?
I'm going:
Man U - Swansea
West Ham - Coventry
Huddersfield - Bury
Crawley Town - Barnet
Anyone else's thoughts?

My only bet is for Barnsley to do well under Keith Hill, - handicap betting with +34.

What does that mean? That Barnsley will be champions if you give them a 34 point lead?

Against the "top weight" using horse racing parlance, yep.
Others however are also handicapped in pre-season football, here's the Championship handicap for example.
Leicester Scr West Ham +1 Nottm Forest +8 Birmingham +9 Middlesbrough +10 Reading +10 Blackpool +14 Brighton +14 Burnley +14 Cardiff +14 Ipswich +14 Southampton +16 Hull + 16 Leeds +16 Bristol City +22 Derby +24 Millwall +24 Portsmouth +24 Watford +29 Coventry +30 Peterborough +30 Crystal Palace +32 Barnsley +34 Doncaster +35

The other one that jumps out from that list is Palace. Whilst I don't expect them to challenge, at the top end, I don't think that they'll be embroiled in the dog fight either.
Reading, on the other hand, I think will struggle a lot more. Leicester have a lot to prove very quickly, and I just have a funny feeling they won't do as well as people expect.
Write us off at your peril too.
Season predictions: Prem: Man Utd - Blackburn Champ: West 'am - Coventry Lg 1: Hudds - Bury Lg 2: Swindon - Barnet

I'm so uninspired by the coming season that I can't be arsed to do this.

Not that it makes a jot of difference but I think that Blackpool could surprise a few in the 'Championship' this year. Otherwise. What Brispie says. We'll finish either 1st or 12th dependant on whether our players can finally be arsed to turn up for a few home games.

As we are 3 days off the start of the season the only bit I care about and am mildly optimistic about is how Brentford will do. Of course, we'll probably capitulate hilariously against Yeovil at home on Saturday and I can go back to my default setting of "same old Brentford".

I'm looking forward to it as it's our post Hilly season, so my interest is as to whether he truely is a football genius or whether the rest of the lower divisions have got so poor that steady as she goes RAFC can amass a team that is competitive due to others not being able to pay their ways despite getting crowds of 20,000.
I do believe that Hill is a football genius however this season is my litmus paper for that.
If we can dick one or two of the big boys again, all the better.

City are handicapped by being a bit shite.
I fancy Forest Green to have a good season, though, and maybe challenge for the playoffs.

The only thing that can save this for me is Vale going into freefall or administration.

Sven's made a c*** of me and Leicester although that was expected. Go Chorlton and damn your eyes Argyle for being worser even that Dagenham.

Still waiting for Swansea to implode, although there's time yet.

The second half of the competition at work is to name the four teams who will move the most places upwards in their respective Divisions from the start of January.
I'm thinking:
Sunderland - O'Neill factor Birmingham - four games in hand and out of Europe Leyton Orient - Did well last season yet are well down Bradford City - surely they must improve from 22nd?
Any thoughts, alternatives?

You'll also win nothing with kids.
Nice to see Lee Hughes trying to keep his reputation at a steady level.

Of course in law he's innocent until proven guilty. But, I'm neither representing him nor likely to be on any future jury he might face. Having criminal allegations made which have enough foundation to result in arrest is hardly likely to improve your reputation. So if they're entirely baseless he can have a "nice libel" payday like Chris Jeffries.

The media need to be reigned in for pending court cases. Leveson had better sort it.

In general yes - fabricating a narrative about someone being exactly the sort of poetry-loving loner weirdo who obviously was the type to abduct and kill his tenants is rather a long way over any sensible line, but merely reporting that someone has been arrested and the broad nature of the allegations should be fine in an open society.
