I was just alluding to how quiet the board is. Nice to see a few old names though. Maybe in the current economic climate people awag less and work more?

If I'm ever on another computer without my bookmarks and want to visit here* I type "thick ankled mumsy" into google and wa la = number 1 result.
* Although fuck knows why I bother, there's more activity in a swindon nightclub than on here these days.

Nah. A few weeks ago I was stood on top of Mow Cop at winger's memorial talking to Sith and MikR about how Mike as a young man would take his girlfriend up Butt Lane. Specialist Kidsgrove area humour.

Oh bugger. I've just read through old posts to understand why sith (just worked out he's johnnyneptune) would be up mow cop calling it wingers memorial.
How very tragic and sad. I do live in butt lane and just looked out at mow cop in the half light. I always find it a very spiritual place to go, or maybe it's just the head rush after walking up that killer hill. A fitting place to remember a man I remember as warm and kind but clearly inspirational to others.
I'm really sorry to hear about his death, I never met winger personally, sending big hugs to awaggers, especially you mark.
How typical I barely visit awag in 6 years then find an app for it and no one uses it!!

Howdo lassie, long long time no see.
Betcha never thought that one of your players would be desperate to leave for a higher division and the squabble for his signing would be between Rochdale and Bury? Personally, I'm glad we lost that one.
Welcome home and all that shit.

He was potentially the best striker we had.

Ah, potential. Mark McCammon was potentially a great striker - fast, strong, direct. The fact that he hadn't the slightest idea what to do once he got the ball or where the goal was were minor setbacks in having, actually, a rather good career failing to fulfil that potential.

Same goes for James Beattie.
With a bit of talent we'd have won the World Cup.
