Brought Vicki home from hospickle yesterday after she had a hysterectomy. She's not in a good way but time will obviously sort that out.

I had a rubber gloved doctor stick his finger up my arse while a very attractive nurse held my hand and cried with silent laughter at the faces I was pulling.
I can't remember if that happened at the Royal Free Hospickle or a party a attended in Hackney in the eighties.

I've had 3 root canals (1 when I was a about 13 caused by smacking myself in the face with a heavy metal object - I don't recommend it) and whilst they can be uncomfortable and ache like hell afterwards they're nowhere near as bad as people imply!
And it's certainly not the most uncomfortable medical procedure I've ever had.

I also had to have a femural stab (the veins in my arms objected to being abused every couple of hours over three days*) ... which according to my hospital notes I 'found distressing'
err, no shit
* I'd obviously make a rubbish intravenous drug user
edit to add - Ralph, hope Mrs R is getting better. She probably doesn't want to hear it now but she will be able to stand upright without it hurting in a week or so.

Pah !!
I had a heart condition known as Wolf Parkinson Whyte Syndrom which meant that I had an extra electrical pathway from brain to heart - its sorted now.
However, this meant that every now and again, my heart would go into palpatations. Sometimes this would be at times of stress (Blackpool's defending) or sometimes even when I was asleep. Normally, it would only last about 20 seconds and the normal rate would kick in.
One day, at work, it started and after a couple of minutes I started getting worried which didn't help. I got my mate to take me to the Hospididle where they put me straight onto a monitor which showed my heart rate off the richter scale. They way they handle this is to give you an injection which shocks your heart back into normal beat.
It felt that my heart was exploding and I have never felt so scared in my life. Luckily, there was a nice nursey to hold my hand while they did all this.
thanks for listening

I've done some right daft things in my time and there are worser pains than mine above. But I've never felt anything like the pain when I put my shoulder back in it's joint for the 2nd time in a week.
I wore my sling properly after that and did what the doc had told me. Correctly.

Two words... Twisted bollocks.
I have a split lip at the moment that opens up every time I smile, I wish I wasn't such a happy chappy. The pain is horrendous.
