Recommendations for some summer reading please. Has anyone read anything interesting or 'new' lately? Please dont recommend winger's big day out at wembley bollocks. I was there and we lost and I dont want him to remind me of it Cheers

Oh, and while you are at it, has anyone got one of those e-reader things like a kindle?
If so, would you recommend one? Is there a particular good one, or is it Kindles all round?

I would highly recommend a kindle. I always thought I would always stick with books but now I'm totally converted.
Additionally one if my major concerns was the potential glare from the screen but the kindle is not like this at all. Can read for hours. However I doubt this would be the case with a kindle app on iPad for instance
If you have wireless I would recommend to get the one without 3G an spend the saving on a decent case

Thanks HT There is a chap at work who has a 'nook' and he raved about it. Apparently there was some deal with a local library that meant he could lend books on his nook. It was going so well until the daft sod left it in the seatback of a jumbo jet. He is hoping for a new one for his birthday
I presume the kindle is more universal than the nook or any of the other ones?

To be honest I've never heard of the Nook but I'm fairly confident that Amazon has the highest selection of books.
It's very easy to use and with wireless you can have your book on there in seconds

I just can't think about reading anything other than good old paper.
Read anything by Jon McGregor or for a good holiday read Robert Harris. I'm liking his Rome trilogy.

Nook is the Barnes and Noble version of Amazon's kindle.

Might now be apt to read some winger in memoriam.
I bought MrsAB a Kindle for Christmas. It is OK but I think we both prefer "real" books.

I quite like kindles, all the most annoying shop customers have bought them and stopped coming in. Most electronic books are still read on computer screens though.
