Fuck me, thought you bleeding hearts would have been holding a weekend vigil over this one.

Most probably surprised that she hadn't died some time ago.

Didn't much care for her music, but suicide (by addiction or otherwise) iis always rather upsetting.
Say something provocative about them kids getting massacred Merk, go on.

I drowned a wasp in beer on Saturday as a premature celebration of her short life.

Misguided youths at a (Norwegian) Labour Party summer camp. A big loss?

'police revise Utoya Island death toll down from 86 to 68.'
Nice little quote from the Telegraph.
Those numbers seem a little bit too suspect for my liking....

I'm still trying to wade through the 21 page tribute in The Sun, in search of a few pages about this Nazi Norwegian.

Kudos to the people who left bottles of vodka amongst the flowers. Waste of alcohol though.

My walk to work is via Camden Square. As I was walking down there this morning my iPod threw up 'My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)' by Neil Young, which was kind of fitting I suppose.

Given he's now a squillion years old and churning out album after album of tosh he's changed his opinion since then I reckon.

Isn't that sort of what the song's about though? Being a squillion years old and churning out tosh?
Ragged Glory is OK (though the contrarian in me wants to say Arc/Weld is better). After that, I concur that it all went a bit shit.

Weld: Fucking Up = Good, Cortez the Killer = Boring after 5 minutes.
From your soaraway Sun...
I don't quite know where to start with what's wrong here.
1) Rodney Dyer clearly needs a slap. This is just like sith queueing for 7 hours to sign a book of rememberance for the People's Princess©
2) Playing Back to Black to a baby - child cruelty at the very least.
3) Mitch Winehouse giving anyone parental advice - I'm sorry for the mum, but he's a bit of a c***.

I reckon Cabbie Mitch slipped her some snide brown, myself. He's got his eye on the long term game and time was running out- how close was she to being 28?

Your interpretation of said song is at total odds to mine then Bernice... ho hum.
Weld dost go on a bit. As does Ragged Glory. He was betterer when he didn't drag things on and on and on and on. And then on a bit more for good measure. I really don't get Rockin' in the Free World. It's a right dirge to put it mildly.
Anyone that says they're 'devastated and speechless' should probably shut up.

As Wittgenstein would probably have said, "I'm speechless" is a self-defeating sentence.

You could be onto something there berners - September the 18th apparently. Anyone who thinks the best way to deal with their kid's drug problem is to fake a heart attack in front of them is one fucked-up kiddie.

Yes, but you are northern, and so interpret everything through a fug of gravy and whippets, so you can be forgiven for getting it so wrong.
Anyone who *says* they're speechless is being all paradoxical n shit, yeah?

Her mum's a top banana and I'm gutted for her. I spoke to her partner over the weekend and she's expected this for some time.

Amy Winehouse approaches the gates of Heaven and is at the back of a massive queue of people. St. Peter sees her and beckons her to the front. "Am I getting special treatment because of my fame?" she asks. St. Peter replies, "No, we're still waiting for a Norwegian translator for this lot!"

On a similar theme:
Amy Winehouse approaches the gates of Heaven to be met by St Peter and Michael Jackson. She says "How nice of you to meet me, as a fellow pop star"
Michael turns to St Peter and says " Where's all those Norwegian kids you promised me?"
OR
I see Elton John has released a tribute to Amy
