Err.. yes Colin. I'm FAIRLY sure neither the guy who does "Coast" nor Big Country are from Glasgow either. YOu daft Valeite.
How is it a good result for Catholics? Was there a victory parade of naked young choirboys afterwards?

I just picked out the most obvious wank from the bag of toss that you penned.
Yes, the parade of altar boys was superb.

The only title Big Country hold is 'best band from Dunfermline to make extensive use of an e-bow'. Scotland are now playing Wales in the World Cup qualifiers I believe? If only there was a competition to decide which of them were the biggest set of chippy c**** about the English, it might be worth watching.

'best band from Dunfermline to make extensive use of an e-bow on their vaguely bagpipe-esque guitar sound" more like.
Would it REALLY be worth watching some incomprehensible ginger drunk in a skirt making weird noises of sympathy at a dark-haired midget who's banging on about some reservoir or another? I suppose it would now I thinks about it, like. As it stands, I fear it will just be a competition in really dreadful football.
Talking of which, Rangers fans are banned from the return fixture so all I have to worry about on Wednesday is catching stray bullets from Malmö's various gang wars.
Welcome fitzyblue. This place needs new blood more than the Hapsburgs. Or the Fritzls. Can we call you Fritzlyblue?

Now obviously the official line on Simple Minds is merely to consider the point at which they jumped the shark. Sparkle in the Rain would be a good bet but it had its moments. Up to that they were pretty damn good. You might disagree, etc

You might disagree, etc I only disagree to the extent that: (1) First Album - Life in a Day wasn't much good (2) They didn't reach the peak of the shark jump parabola (uh!) until Street Fighting Years even if they were definitely on the ramp for Once Upon a Time.

When you actually think about it, Scotland's come out with some right arse over the years. Obvious exception excluded.

I'd say their arse/good stuff ratio is up there with any country you care to mention, frankly.
Orange Juice (occasionally) BMX Bandits Teenage Fannies JAMC Bits of Primal Scream now and then (mind you, they can produce the most tremendous arse on occasion and Gillespie an hilariously incoherent and daft man) Beta Band Ivor Cutler err.. that's it.
So I reckon they punch at least as well as England. Probably better, in fact. But nowhere near as good as Wales who have NEVER PRODUCED A DUFF ARTIST EVER. Shakey is our Serge Gainsbourg, Bonnie Tyler shits all over Billy Holiday and the Stereophonics are the band Dinosaur Jr wish they had been. FACT.
p.s. Rangers - that was pathetic, and now I'm all grumpy from no sleep due to idiots driving around town tooting their horns and waving flags out the window.

Which reminds me, I have a desire to form a 60's influenced cricket-themed tribute band called the Brian Johnston Massacre. Who's with me?
