:wave2: Why should I go to Madeira and not Malta? Alternatively, why should I go to Malta and not Madeira?

Malta is a shithole. Madeira is nice. Neither really have beaches....

I'm off to Bulgaria. But Skynews says Bulgarians go round chopping heads off so i'm not looking forward to it as much now.

I've just realised this is AWAG and not the Buxton Lounge. I feel dirty.

It's the law for everyone from the east midlands. It's a shame that the derbyshire miners camp has gone.

Madeira - lovely cakes and sweet wine Malta - lovely honeycomb choccie treats, and falcons aplenty
That sums up about all I know about these two destinations.

The Derbyshire Miners Camp is where my parents have a caravan. Well not exactly, but just across t'road. I stayed there when it was closing down in the early 90s.

There is probably less chance of meeting a relative of Tracy Emin in Madeira. More chance of a fiery, horrible death on landing though. I am going here for some of my holidays: p.s. The Notts miners are scabs. p.p.s or is it Derbyshire? Where's Chesterfield?

Chesterfield is in Derbyshire. It was the Nottingham lot that scabbed.
However, while they won't tell you this, north Derbyshire voted against the strike but the union took them out anyway because of the threat from south yorkshire pickets.
Bris, I too went in the early 90's. Possibly 90/91. The green coats had a thankless task.

Love Cornwall-rained like mad last year so had to go and take refuge in one of them smugglers pubs

You'll struggle to beat Dorset. I know-they've always good at cricket and its never really been my forte. Whats it like for a holiday though? ;D

I think it was 90/91 or possibly 91/92 when I went. We stayed in one of the old flats near the outdoor swimming pool that they knocked down the following year.

Surely you fill swimming pools in, you don't knock them down?

I think it was 90/91 or possibly 91/92 when I went. We stayed in one of the old flats near the outdoor swimming pool that they knocked down the following year. I remember them. The meals were served in a massive dining hall, very reminiscent of school. Outdoor pools in Skegness should have been outlawed years ago. It was never warm enough to use it, although I did try. I think it took me a month to feel warm again.

I think it took me a month to feel warm again. Isnt that known as 'a visit to Boundary Park syndrome'? Has there been a colder place to visit on matchday?

Skegvegas is great if you are a kid or if you've got kids. Other than that it's shocking.

Loved it last year as did my 4 year old. The first time I've said that since I was 14 and spending my time hanging around arcades, smiling at girls hoping I might get a kiss.
