Being better than Nottingham? You're madder than a twisted spire.

: 'Look at the state of that church' That Iceland is directly across the road from the new football ground, or more impressively, the new Tesco.

The budget not good. For most people to be honest.
If I'd been 10 years younger I'd have been with the anarchists, but having a wife and kids changes lots of things.

According to the calculator thing on the BBC website the budget makes me better off.
Anarchists are twats.

They seemed rather organised for anarchists.

On the march I had a long discussion with a mate about which political party to join, if any. I like the idea of anarchy in principal, but I'm not sure whether it would work in practice. All the splinter socialist groups make me laugh.

Actual anarchists are not twats. Actual anarchists who know what they're on about are in my experience well above the average IQ. But few people who call themselves anarchists actually are. The self-styled "black bloc" adherents, on the other hand, are such fucking pricks that I can't even write about them without having to look at this footage (fast forward to about 40 seconds to see some privileged little stone-throwing shit TASTE HOT 9MM LEAD) to make myself happy again. Oh, Robert Heinlein, you were so right about so much...

I did my dissertation on classical anarchism many years ago.
I wish I'd done something more interesting instead, it really was tediously boring.

No imminent redundancies in my area of work. In fact we are snowed under at the moment. They'd have to drop some of the work areas I'm on, but seeing as I'm currently creating a situation where at least part of my job will be financed by the private sector, I should be OK.
Oi Daley, I've got to go to a meeting in Nottingham on the 6th, so thought I'd arrive early and catch the game the night before. Are you over for it?

What's your problem then? Stop whinging and get some bloody work done.

If the anarchists and hairy "down with this sort of thing" types had been using twitter they'd have realised that the place to be if they wanted to bother the establishment was Peppa Pig World on Saturday. At least if the number of right leaning twitterers I had on my timeline is anything to go by. They'd have evaded the ire of Mitch Benn too as they could have taken their kids on a demonstration that they'd have enjoyed rather than forcing them to carry banners proclaiming political views they could not possibly hold themselves.
Meanwhile I was being part of the petty bourgeoisie at Center Parcs (sic) Longleat. At least by learning to ride a pedal bike OMB will have gained some support from the brispies though.

It's a Huddersfield Board - there's a risk that some might stray onto these pages and think I was the sort of chav who sticks their 4 year old on a mini-dirtbike or that stabby would approve of that sort of thing.

I guess not. In reality it was more of a hangover from a weekend of (the very precise) OMB distinguishing his "big boy's bike with pedals" from his balance bike.

no matter your view, you've got to chuckle at the video of the chief inspector telling all the tarquins in F&M that they were free to leave and then them all being arrested the moment they left the store.
no wait. you haven't got to chuckle....
most impressive quote from the weekend was some senior policeman on bbc news 24 saying the police were only not kicking protestors into next wednesday because tv cameras were there.
