Three high-spots today; 1. Beckett's goal 2. Brandon's goal 3. The treatment dished out to motormouth Jerome. Hell, I even stayed behind at the end of the game to give him some. Sorry, I'm embarrassed that I did that! Did anyone else notice that as he traipsed off, Kamara went on to commiserate with him, but Jerome petulently brushed him aside. Still - that'll teach him to go shooting his mouth off. Enjoy your day off on Round 4 day, Cammy!! ;D ;D

it was ace to see the premiership boys sulking and acting like spoilt kids-- tossers all ov em Unless McLeish signs around 8 players this January then they won't be Premiership sulkers for much longer. Surely there can't be 3 Greed League teams worse than that lot?

As he warmed up in front of me I thought it was childish to shout 'wanker, wanker, wanker' that other 'fans' were shouting. Ha Ha - it was fkn great. Loved it when he was on the pitch trying to play football (badly), although after shouting that I was sure he was to score!!!

As if I would do anything like that - it probably was, I was sure he was going to score the until till Brandon scored the winner (never thought I would say that). If I'm lanky and lancastrian it might be me. (from Rochdale - sorry)

I bumped into Cameron's old man and his family after the match and even he approved when I told them all to continue the stick when he got home.
To be honest though I don’t think that the kid’s comments in the week were particularly offensive and we should not dwell on it. All he said was that he wanted to put one over on his hometown club.
He should be congratulated for adding to the atmosphere and firing us all up. The fact that he then went on to have a shitter is particularly commendable. He probably had a town top on under his own shirt.
I wish him and all other local lads plying their trade in the football leagues well for the future. You never know we may be cheering him on one day.

Someone in the LB Lower shouted "..comitting career suicide.." as CJ did his bet to goad the Town fans. Nothing but a jumped up ponce. It was the worst abuse I had seen thrown at an opposition player since Alex Bruce (fully deserved as well).

nicked from other part of board
Jerome out to prove point <<<<
Jan 4 2008 by Dougie Thomson, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
BIRMINGHAM striker Cameron Jerome, right, wants to “put one over” his hometown club tomorrow after claiming Town almost wrecked his career.
Huddersfield-born Jerome was a schoolboy with the Galpharm club but became disillusioned with the game when he claims they refused to release him after bigger clubs started to show an interest in signing him.
He drifted out of football for a while until brief spells followed at Sheffield Wednesday, Middlesbrough and Grimsby before he climbed the footballing ladder again with Cardiff.
Former Westend junior player Jerome, who moved to Birmingham in a £3m deal in the summer of 2006, insists he has nothing to prove to Town – but is desperate to knock them out and send Alex McLeish’s side into the fourth round.
The England Under 21 player admitted: “I lost a little bit of love for the game when I was a teenager. I was with Huddersfield, my hometown team, as a junior but they wouldn’t release me when other clubs were interested in signing me.
“After a while I went to Sheffield Wednesday and played some pre-season games.
“But it wasn’t right for me and while Middlesbrough came in, I didn’t hit it off there either.
“I went to Grimsby Town as well, and it was Paul Wilkinson who remembered me from there when he was Cardiff City’s reserve team coach.
“I went there, things took off and I eventually moved to Birmingham.”
Jerome admitted: “With the way things happened, I have been looking forward to this match ever since the third-round draw was made.
“I don’t have anything to prove. What happened was years ago when I was a kid and I think I have showed what I can do since then but it would be nice to go back and put one over on them.
“I am definitely out to do that. I would even want to play if I was injured in this game. I have been looking forward to it for a long time.”
Jerome has been impressed with McLeish following the departure of ex-Town boss Steve Bruce for Wigan in November after six years in charge.
He said: “It did come as a surprise when Steve left. He did a lot of work to change the squad around and then, all of a sudden, he was gone.
“But in football, you have to get on with your job and be professional
“Alex McLeish has brought a lot of enthusiasm with him and maybe the lads have been that little bit sharper in training.
“He wants us to play a bit more and he is very thorough in his preparation. We all know what is required of us and we are enjoying it under him.”

Best bit of fun I have had for ages. If ever Town had a twelfth man on the terraces it was yesterday. Jerome has a bit of growing up to do. I remember him playing for Westend when my lad played for Honley. They were a damn good team, took the division at a canter, and he was noticably a notch above. Believing your own hype is a bad idea though, especially in football.
I think when he grows up, and yesterday will hopefully help him with that, he will be a first class player. Hope McLeish gets him sorted. Regardless of his comments it's always nice to see a local lad do well.
